Hey guys... i sent a PM to LONX but i haven't got a reply yet... i've had troubles with people not getting my PM's (msg for Warren)
Anyway... i've been up in tha garage this morning... I've managed to fix my starting problem!
But now i'm stuck and dont know where to start!
Should i do my timing then go for a drive to warm her up and adjust the idle....
OR
Should i put the CAS in mid position and go for a drive to warm her up... Adjust the idle to 800 THEN do my timing???
Please help people....
Cheers,
Craig.

dude
you adjust the ignition timing when the car is at operating temp...
i wouldn't adjust the CAS before hand... Just get the car to normal/operating temp and get the timing light out and check the timing. THe timing is 15 degrees BTC. So when you spot the orange mark on your crank pulley it should be the 3rd mark to its right. As you adjust the timing the idle will change. Once you've set the timing, and the idle is either too high or too low, then you can adjust the idle through the screw.
good luck

thanks man!
but something is wrong as i cant see my timing marks! well i can but i have to fully retard the CAS to see em!
And when i'm looking at them there are || <--- 5 marks like that
Then a lil further on there is 1 mark like this |
I can only just get it to line up with the | mark!
and BTW there are no colors! Well they are white but a couple of em u can barely see!

I've been having similar problems in the past and present.
My engine was once running good and I checked the timing and no matter what I did to the cas, the spark would be 15 degrees away from the first marker, I replaced the TPS and bang, set the timing right on and drove even better. I have the CA16DE motor and the computer doesn't auto-detect the TPS working or not, but I believe your CA18DE motor can detect it. maybe run a check on it? or even check it with an ohm meter.
Something I would suggest checking is take the front right wheel off (and possibly the mud gaurd if their is one) and rotate your crankshaft pully (observing where the marks are). Then take out cylinder 1's sparkplug, and make sure the piston is at the TDC when it is around the markings.
