Hi,

I am new to the world of NX Coupe because my partner has just bought one.
She's not really a forum person, so I have to do all the research. :afro:

The 1st thing is the suspension. I had a look at he shocks yesterday and the rubber boot covering the shock looks like a slinky ans I can see the shaft. Would that generally mean the shocks are probably worn too (I assume they are the originals - 138000km)? The car is under warranty for 3 months so we could take it to the dealer to fix.

Also, what is the general consensus on lowering? On the Laser Forums (thats my car below), we usually go King Springs or Whiteline with Koni, KYB or Whiteline Shocks. We don't want to go overboard with the lowering, ~1.5 - 2".

She also wants to get the stereo decent. What speakers would people suggest? I read the other thread and it looks like 6" are OK, but would that cover the hole left by the existing speaker? How deep can she go...ooh err, sounds rude? :snide:

my car has king springs, only come in 1 inch lowered and doesn't need to be any lower personally, and koni adjustables and that works the treat.

Hey I had a whiteline works kit fitted to my 93 nxr, and it is great, I have never felt that sort of handleing in a car before.
I had it dropped about 2-2 1/4 inches all round heavy duty sways front and rear, engine strut and camber/castor kits put in by my local dealer, then I dropped in KYB's myself, works great for me nice and low, not too bumpy and I drive alot of shit roads through the blue mountains......hope it helps.

I'd go King Springs and KYB shocks + a swaybar. That's what I'll be getting once I get my clutch in and save enough money.

BTW are you on FFF? Your sig pic looks familiar.

Yeah thats me, but I only stick to the Audio Forums nowadays, as the other ones get all kinds of assholes on it.

Choclove,

Welcome to the forums champ. If you want part numbers for suspension, just PM me - I've had them stored waiting for when I get my licence back (shopping like never before). And I'll direct you to someone that can get the stuff pretty cheap too (if you can find cheaper let me know!).

hahaha, i got pedders and there pretty kick arse (for being pedders that is). and they dropped the front of my car by about an inch (so now it sits about 17 cm off the ground), however the rear of my car went down nearly 2 inches (now about 23-24 cm off the ground)....and i had difficulty getting over speed bumps before...now im FUCKED.

i cant get over them at all.

also the price was about $1400 or so for a whole suspension kit.

shocks, springs, bump stop, sway bars, lower ball joints, boot seals...everything

not bad considering the money you save as a comparison to somebody like KYB or whiteline

Gotthard, your car is 17cm off the ground and you have difficulty getting over speed humps?? Where do you live dude, and how high are your speed humps?
The lowest part of my car is a bit over 9cm off the ground and I get around fine, apart from the odd exhaust touching speed humps when I go over them too quick (bouncy ride). I also plan to get it another 1" lower. Hopefully I'd still be able to get around Westfields - sheesh my g/f LOVES that place

Diddier, can you PM me how much you got your gear for? Did you get the Whiteline stuff?
