View Full Version : Non NI$$AN parts 'fix ups'

Please add to this thread if you have made a repair using non nissan parts for a reason of them being cheaper (inc prices) or just for availability.

I had to replace that little S bend hose at the back of the engine today (cause of most coolant leaks),
I ended up getting one from 'Auto Pro" it was one to suit an '88 Ford Meteor Laser which cost $12.95.
It was WAY tooo long but cut off either end and it's exactly tha same as tha one it's replacing!
NI$$AN wanted $26.95 for this hose!!!

Please add to this thread but only add informative posts NOT ones asking stuff OK!!! THANX

my old gaer boot was cut up and just looked plain tardy
so anyway now it uses a m5 nappa leather boot:)
cost=$0
also have commodore rubber bonnet spacer/buffers
once again cost=$0

I was quoted $150 for 3 hoses fitted, thats about $50 each and nix for fitting from nissan, I went to super cheap and bought a hose for a different car, with the bends nearly the same as I needed and fitted them, I used some hose clamps on one bend to help stop the hose from kinking. Total cost was $18.

Thats all I have to add..

Front Suspension Bushes $1.00 each

I bought 4 CV Boot Kits, 1 Steering Boot, 4 Bushes
Total Saving $315.20, thats alot of big mac's
