What do you guys/girls think about aluminum wings on exas? I've never seen one on an exa before but i think it would look good. Opinions?

I don't have a pic of my car with an aluminum wing on the hatch but I do have one on my Sportbak. Steve (NismoPlsr) has one though.

me personally think big wings on cars that are street driven and dont produce lots of horsepower are a waste...
they are only really needed where downforce on the rear wheels in needed...
but thats only my opionin.... and some ppl think it looks good

These wings are the only spoilers i like. I think almost any car looks good with one on it.

I agree, its not necessary... if you feel like you need to be a ricer from fast & furious, so be it... go buy a honda and rice that up.

Please keep our Nissans clean =)

unless you do actually need the down force on the rear end...that is why they make them adjustable(some anyways).
T
when it comes to looks it's all personal opinion.
it's tough to find one that looks good on our cars.

The only wing I've seen that in my opinionlooks any good is the one on Lennys car. I think it's a modified STi one but correct me if I'm wrong.

Nope, Lenny's is custom built by Lenny himself.

i think aliminium wings should be left to ~800hp supra's skylines silvia's and other such cars

they are like $1000.. why waste the money??

the exa shape suits no wing i think

i once saw a volvo with one.. :eyelids:

i dunno...some wings look good, i'll agree that lennys looks awesome, and nismo's looks sweet as well...but some dont look too crash hot, and u have to search real hard for one that can sit on the stock wing of the spoiler and still look good

i have to agree here... i mean the exa has smallish kinda spoiler anyways... so why waste money on a rice spoiler, don't get me worng.. the suit fast cars, cos they serve a purpose but otherwise a low powered car is a no go....

the spoiler dosent sit on the stock spoiler on the back thats one of the fastest way the rip it off even if the car is slow as shit.

it could come off driving or some shit just pulling it off..

most of the ones ive seen (avent seen every spoiler in the world) are angled as mine is and is fasend to the boot itself not the spoiler.

tring real hard to get photo's up!

would it be possible to remove the stock spoiler and mount a new one in the same place??

I saw a exa with a aluminium wing on it looked home made

Yes. but it takes a little body work. I removed my stock and I'm about to install an aluminum spoiler.

sounds great...youll have to post some pics when its done!!! i always thought the exa had potential for a ricey wing, but on all the attempts i've seen the stock one gets in the was and looks really bad

what i find funny, in my experience, removing the stock spoiler actually increases downforce a little bit. personally i think it looks better without the stock spoiler, but you need to fill in the sides with some short hair filler.

TTriX

ture that wiser...
i noticed more down force on the rear with the little spoiler removed...

not bad...it looks alright without the stock spoiler, and the huge wing and strange kit is very different :afro:

that car is very clean, but the rear bumper is to low...

TTriX

thanx for the compliment...i usually get some flack for the rear bumber being so plain-hehe(i promise the next one will be better)
but unfortunatly that car does not exist any more-hehe
i have another but the wing and the front are the only things going back on this one...modified of course-hehe
here is another pic with the little spoiler removed with no spoiler on it at all...
it's a bit of work but i think it looks better with the factory one removed...
this pic is about a year old...
T

nevermind-hehe...if you want to see the pic you have to go to buy and sell and look under -f/s custom tail lights...
thanx.

I found a site with a EXA with a Aluminium spoiler... http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=212544&make_type_query=make% ....looks ok to me.:dapimp

That shit looks hot. And to believe that some of guys think pulsars look ugly with an aluminum spoiler. Its all about which aluminum spolier you choose.

BENRYS
20th March 2003, 09:57 AM
its to big for the car, if it was smaller it would be awesome....

SoNiX
20th March 2003, 09:02 PM
yeah, i agree with benrys, the actual wing looks awesome, but its way too high...if it wasnt so far off the boot (i know this would mean a lack of downforce, but does it really need it?) it would look better

Tey
21st March 2003, 08:59 AM
i agree...... it's cool, but a little high.

BENRYS
21st March 2003, 12:28 PM
hey, i had another look, and to be honest, why the fuck does anyone want a wing in the first place.. the exa is a fwd car, so it wouldn't really serve much perpose....

however there was a pic a while back of a yellow exa, and that had a non t wing spoiler, it kinda went all the way to the roof... that was mad, i would do that to my girl.. but only for looks...

you would need to have a front spoiler as well as a set of side skirts *ground effects*

Matt

That cosworth-style wing on the yellow exa was ugly as!!

the wing is about a metre wider then the car that looks shit sorry to say. i'm more for cars witha big front n rear spoiler but no wing gives it more of a low effect i'm seen it down on a dun up mr2 looks nice
