hey guys i got a list of shitty probs with my car that i need sorted and i hope someone will have an idea...
okay first one.. talights!! my tail lights fuse keeps blowing, i'm not sure why...?????
speedo is brokeN!!! pulled apart the dash and everythin seems in order??
dash lights... the lights on the dash don't work, i'm assuming these are connected to the tail light fuse...
and last of all. my head lights.... my right hand head light is very dim and the other headlight is stuck on high beam.. when i turn the beams on and off it does nothin.. have pulled apart and cleaned the metal connections but doesnt seem to do anythin!!!
any ideas guys... the main prob i wanna fix is the tail lights

Yep tha tail lamp fuse is whats causing both Dash lights and high beams to stay on!
Have u had a stereo installed? One of the wires maybe dammaged or not connected properly!
And your speedo u'll need to check the cable (someone else will have to help you there as i am unsure where exactly it is)
*It may have wriggled loose*

Craig.

My 1st exa.. always blew the fuse ...
but only when the boot lid was open, If that s the case ...
all i did is pushed the contact down a bit (in the boot the car side, not the lid side) and superglued it there .. it is bodgy.. but it worked..
just dont press down to much.. u stil want it to make contact

there are two wires which usually get mixed up in stereo installs!
There is an 'illumination' wire from the cars harness which some people try to use as a ground wire or something like that!
What Head Unit have you got Brand and Model! Unless u do have the Instructions for it!
I can guide u through on what to do/check if i wish! It's not hard and should take any longer than 30mins!

hmmm ur a champ!! :D
a few weeks ago i rewired my stereo because brissie car sound had my speakers all mixed up, and i finally got around to doin it... anways i decided, hey i'll bypass this weird swtich cause it looks like its doin nothin.. so bypassed the swithc and i was mucking around with the ground and i saw a black wire ( must be the illumination wire ur talkin about) and i joined the black wire to the earth of the head unit...
and this is arond the time i think it stopped working!!!
so if i put everythin back to normal should this fix it??? or would i have fried a wire when i f*cked around with it all???

Bris car sound do shit work, they dont even solder wires into the crimp, I got my 1st stero done there they only twisted the wires together and taped it up.

Yeh your ground wire basically needs to go under a screw which u will see on the base of the car behind the ashtray where there is no carpet! Clamp it under one of them screws and Tape up that Black wire... which is actually more likely to be your '2nd arial wire' (u know that line going up your windscreen) its for that!
The illumination wire will be one of the other ones!
I'll see if i can know togetha a wiring diag for you to go by!
