should a clutch cable be tightened hard or a bit loose

my dad just installed a new one and at first when i drove it around it felt as though the clutch didnt want to come up as i was letting go so i told him to loosen it up a bit and it was sort of like it was before but i suppose im not used to the new cable if it makes any difference

what is a clutch really supposed to feel like? the one ive been used to is the one where u let go and the pedal goes up normally with no pressure on it or anything and u can slightly feel the clutch engaging or disengagine if u know what i mean :S

thanx in advance

The clutch cable shouldn't be loose or tight, it should be perfect hehe. just give it some tension.

Have you considered adjusting your clutch pedal?
