Does anybody know what muffler company makes a stainless steel muffler, that is pretty straight through and has a 3" inlet on it,
Any info would be great.

Check Magnaflow Mufflers. They make great quality, great sound and better performance than stock.

Thats what i have SS 3" in and outlet with oval 4" tip!!!
FARKING LOUD!!! AND a good thing about Lukey performance mufflers is when tha revs get up there near redline it doesn't scream like normal ones! it holds it's note!!!
Oh BTW mine isn't straight thru but u can get them!!!

Yes well. Mine at the mo is a Magnaflow 2 1/4" inlet with 4.5" tip.
It did up the performance, but, Im not happy. Im gonna upgrade to RICE RICE RICE. 3" m/bent catback with a HKS or APEXi muffler with like a 5" outlet. Oh and mounted slightly sideways and upward. LOL...
Lukey is an australian brand so if your in the us it'll be hard to get.
If you can afford it, get a brand like HKS especially if you have a DET.

Well putting a 'turbo' muffler on an N/A car is actually a really good idea! Coz turbos act a little like a muffler (pre muffling some of tha noise)... So what i'm getting at is that the 'turbo' muffler is designed in a way that it doesn't make it much quieter from a turbo.
So of cause having a non turbo, tha muffler is gettin tha full sound and not really doing much to it except for making it into a lovely sounding note all the way upto redline ;)
I love my lukey
i hope that makes sense to u all!

How bad would it be if I had a 3" exhaust, and then I Put on a muffler with a 2 1/2" inlet on using a conector?

well not too bad atall!
i'm not sure of tha specs on tha CA18DET but EXA's in general are know to be real arses to get up hills!
doing that is sacrificing high end performance for low end torque,
which if u think about it is good for the old exa!
U'll have bloody good takes offs with better hill cilmbing just not as much high end performance...
How that helps,
Craig.
