Ok.

Today I went to Tint a car in the city and they said that the legal tint is 35%. They said if the tint is darker and you have an accident the insurance will not cover you. So if YOU hit some rich fucker in a BMW, you will have to pay the damage as the insurance will be void, and if you don't he'll probably take you to court and all your belongings will be taken away, i know someone this happened too.

So fuck that im not getting darker than 35%, anyway point is, I got quoted $199 to do it all over in ASH tint (It's the most budget tint and doesn't have a lot of heat resistance) and $280 in F1 Tint (Thats the best tint avaliable and blocks 99% UV and 60% heat).

The guy said my car has no tinitng on it at the moment lol, no wonder it gets so hot.

Anyway, do these prices sound alright? Anyone know a cheaper place?

OH SHIT, 35% is illegal, thats a yellow sticker job. One of the guys I used to work with had 25% and got a yellow sticker for it, I think the most you can have without a cops arm in your ass is about 18%. Thats what they told my friend.

The lower the % the darker the tint. Oli' is right, 35% is darkest legal in WA.

theres a private tint company in greenmount somewhere that r cheap and do really good work! there also mobile which makes them easy, i cant remember what they charged me but it was cheaper than the prices people r talking about! give them a try, it cant hurt to call!

yeah it is 35%

the guy at the pits said my tint was off the scale... he thought it was like 80% :tonguepla

unless your insurance company are absolute PRICKS they won't do this...

if the tint is blocking your view from the car you hit then yeah they will cancel it.. otherwise i doubt they will get you.. they're human too

my mate has illegal ash tint on his soarer, its so reflective you can't see inside even when your 30cm's away from the window.. he has made several insurance claims on accidents with no worries (he's had the car for 3 years with the tint the whole time)
