i suggesting making a sub forum in buy and sell called "nissanexa.com mechandise" or something like that, in it we could advertise the stuff that BigL can do (shirts seatcovers etc) Nissanexa.com stickers and anything else that gets developed, that way it sorta draws a line bewtween the normal classifieds and stuff thats available all the time

cause it would take more space on the site

wingnut
1st June 2004, 10:46 PM
how?
if u post it on normal buy and sell
or in new section it'll take up same space
and we just got a new exa aus forrum!
don't see anyony disagring with it!

10WXA
1st June 2004, 11:16 PM
well in that case what about
location buy and sell sections
as in eg
briz/buy and sell
usa/buy and sell etc etc

wingnut
1st June 2004, 11:47 PM

i think it will also make it easier for new members and visators to the sight, this way they can go straight to "merchansise" in stead of searching through buy and sell, (lets face it, none of us read stickies!)

"cause it would take more space on the site" - i can assure you that is two tenths of f*ck all as to the reason. I think that reason has been mentioned before and nomatter how many times we say its not the reason, someone still seems to think we're lying about it? geesh...

I said I disagreed because I don't think its necessary, this kinda thing can easily be a link in your signature (to a single web page even... post pics all that kinda stuff) and more people will see it. The idea of hiding it in normal Buy/Sell sounds okay to be, but I still just don't think it would be that useful.

i still disagree but thanx for explaining yourself :)

I disagree, simply because the site needs to be as user friendly as possible to new members, and the less forums we have, the better :) The EXAus forum is only temporary, as we have way too many forums as it is... People wanted a turbo forum in the n13 tech section, and while it could be beneficial to some, it makes it harder to keep topics in the right sections, it segregates n13 owners etc etc...

But yeah, we have enough forums as it is...

Hey - as a person still traversing the wonders of this site (& also from a marketing? point of view) I agree with Pom Pom: I think it's a great idea to have a section or subsection that highlights the club merchandise avail around the country (and overseas).

I really wanted a sticker or 2 and a shirt or whatever but it's been really tough finding out up-to-date info! Looks like I'll have to make some stuff up myself - and I'd do extras and post the info in a specific place if it was avail... spreading the love, if you will.

If you had a form that posters had to follow (& non-relevant shit was deleted) I think this would work. Inspiration from Ebay....
For example:
1. What you're selling:
2. Details: eg. sizes avail, for what gender, number, if going to order vs already have merchandise (INCL photos/drawings if poss)
3. Available to: *within immediate area only/within Aus etc... (Whether people must collect from you personally or whether you'll post)
4. Estimation of post costs: *this is really easy info to get from Aus Post*
5. Payment type you'll accept: eg. direct bank deposit, send me a cheque, COD etc.

This would be really useful & more valuble than some of the other indiv forum topics mentioned I reckon! :)

Thanks guys,

BTW GPExa, I really like this site and would like to promote it - I AM a new member & it is a priority to me!

Cheers for the suggestions :)

I like the concept, but I'd say having an extra forum for it might not be best, only because it would a) add yet another forum to our extremely long list of forums, and b) It could probably be better put in another part of the site...

I dunno... It's a tough one... I'd like to keep it to as little forums as possible, as we started with just 5! :)

We'll see...

like you said gpexa, perhaps it could go on another part of the site?

like on the main page or whatnot... then there could be a list of all the funky stuff we could buy.... and who to contact...

Come on admin it may be not have to be a extra forum why not have a link to another page at the top labelled Nissan exa merchandise with members to contact about it.
Surely one link cant take up that much space.

I mean you added a pages (edit by GPexa... shhh about that page ;))
That sort of activity is not going to make people join, they will see that and think that’s what we are all about. When really we are about togetherness as a club.
This link will encourage new members to use and where your merchandise

Secondly I would like to add that I was unhappy with the way admin conducted their selves in this thread they only explained them selves after being asked i think that plain old NO in not good enough.

Remember with out members you don’t have a club

Ok yep - just have a link at the top maybe? Shouldn't be in a forum as such but should have it's own little page!

bulletin board - gallery - modifications - exa info - chat room - guest book - contact us - club community merchandise

C'mon - looks good!!

I think this is a really good idea!!!

Maynot not just a merch. section but a 'company' like section.

So xracing and (is it bella?) can post their stuff in there. Can you lock it in such a way that people will need permission to post in there. That way you only get the adverts and if people want something they will have to use the details to call, email or PM the seller!

I wasn't sure about the turbo section... but i'm damn hell sure about this!!! It's working really well on three other forums with which i am a member/modorator. ***BTW they have more forums than us and still newbies dont have any trouble!!!***

Craig.

I do like the idea of having a merchandise page... but is there enough stuff?

It won't be a forum, because it wouldn't be active enough...

If I do set it up, people would have to email me their details, and I'd add it manually...

i think it would be a good idea to have a link on the main page that says merchandise or something. and then when you click on it it brings up 1 page and it would say whom to contact/message for what product. then you click on that persons name and it sends them to the messageing/email setup up for the person.
now i guess it all depends on the people supplying the seat covers, shirts, stickers, nsane badges etc ect, if they want emails and pms from other members about it thats how i would justify it. its one page so it wont take up to much space and if a member has something they would like to supply to all the other members have them contact you with an interest to be put on this "merchandise contact list page". and to make it better maybe have a one time donation fee to be on the page i mean they are/would be making money off your site so. who knows might be worth doing a test run or something. in anycase keep up the good work on the site and thanks for letting us "the members" have a say in your decision makeing process. ~Jon

Bad Idea I rekon....
It will take up space and you wont get many posts up on it anyway..
