When I bought my car used, it had genuine nissan bags in it that fit the t-tops perfect, with a ziper and everything. Maybe if you could get someone to make two for you.

if you look under the wood part that hides your spare tyre, youll find that the t tops fit in there perfect thats where there sposed to go, its a head f*ck to get them in there but it is worth it cos then you avoid scratching the t tops.

I dont put mine in there decause icant be stuffed and they are alreadt scratched to buggery, i just chuck them in the boot, usually with a rug or my jumper or something over them to stop them from rubbing on each other.

when I put mi targa tops in the boot I usually just use the boot carpet stuff to put between them, but the hey mine are realy scratched so its probably not the best solution.

2 best ideas i have used / seen ....

Get an old towel, and wrap the roof in it...

or just put the roofs on the back seat....
i normally put the on the back seat........

I use to put them under the boot cover..got to the point to where I put carpet under there to protect them more. Lucked out at a wreck yard and found some slip covers. Now I just lay them in the back. Getting some made shouldn't be hard nor expensive.

I just stand them on the back seat with a towel between them.Never had a problem with it.No scratches what so ever. The only thing is that no one can sit in the back, but i never have anyone in the back anyway.:flamedevi

I put mine in the proper compartment in the boot, with the strap over the top to hold them in place. To stop the scratching i put them between an old cotton sheet. Works fairly well, and i have got the whole roof on / roof off thing down to a few seconds per side... :D

seems to me like alot of people dont actually know how to properly put their roof in the targa storage compartment!!! we better go back to basics... i always put my roof in the targa storage compartment and i have never had a problem at all. before i new how to do it properly i scratched the shit outta them but now they work perfectly everytime, and yeah the strap in the boot is for the targa's. i think i'll do a how to article so people can see exactly how its done properly, but basically u remove everything from ur boot them take out the plastic false floor untill u can just see the spare tyre, jack etc. now take a small bit of material and place it over the big screw thing that holds the spare in place, probably not nessicary but i do it anyway, just in case... ok after that go and get ur passenger side targa off the car (dont think it matters too much but my passenger one just seems to sit better..) and put it upside down (painted side to spare wheel/bottom), and handle toward the back of the car into the little padded indents in the bottom of the boot. (if done properly it will sit flush) next go and grab the drivers side targa and place it the right way/painted side up with the release handle away from u/facing the front of the car. it should sit nice now and the two interior sides on the targas shoud be resting on eachother. now go and grab the "Y" shape elastic strap on the far (rear seat side) of the boot and pull it over the targa's hooking the other end onto the little spot in the back of ur boot just under where the floor sits. (may be a tight squeeze) i have a little square of a fluffy material to protect the targa's from the metal in the joins on the Y strap. now ur targa's should be held in nice and tight and wont roll around. replace the floor and drive away!!!!!! if u do this properly they wont move and wont get damaged. sounds like alot of effort but i can do it so quick now that its not a worry, hope that helps out a bit guys, feel free to direct any Questions my way...

my drivers side is scratched but now I put a towel over the spare tire to stop it. I use the strap as well. I have just noticed the scrap has rubbed on the passenger side one in some places and made it a little dull.

when i first got the car i tried the whole targa on top of each thing in the storage compartment and im 90% sure i did it rite becaues they fitted in pretty good but i noticed after a few days little scratchs from just sand / dirt grinds that get inbetween the caparment and the targa and it rubs so now i hav a big white dooner eveywhere wif me and i just put the targas ontop of each other in the hatch area wif the dooner between them ...never scratched since then .. the only dissadavantage i could see by doing this is i loose a fair bit of boot space but like i carry grocery bags around :tonguepla

Try laying your doona down (or sheet if anyone else whats to try this) in the roof / spare wheel compartment so one short end is closest to the back wall (brake light area) of the car. The other end of the doona will be somewhere on the back seat or near there. Then put in one of the roof panels facing down in the proper spot. The other panel goes above this one facing up and also rotated 180 degrees, in its proper spot.

Then fold the cover (doona / sheet) back over towards you so its protecting the top roof panel. If you used a sheet, pull the strap towards you over the panels and clip in securely. If you used a doona there may not be enough room to use the strap. The boot area floor can now be clipped in place and the carpet folded back down.

If you leave the cover in the roof panel area all the time, then all you need do when you take off the roof is straighten it out and put the panels between the two halves of the cover, close and you're done!

A funny thing about that strap in the tyre compartment, when I test-drove my first Pulsar in 95 I had my mom with me. It was an automatic (curseed thing) as I didn't know how to drive a manual then. My mom and I got in and set out on the road. I don't think my mom really liked the idea of me getting a car for my self, let alone a small car.

"Did you check this over blah blah blah?"
"I listened to it, checked for leaks (and whatever else I looked for, can't remember)"

Going down the road we heard a knocking noise.
"I told you, these cars here are no good" she said.

The car was at an auction place and it was running for $2200. We stopped and I looked underneath and I saw the strap had fell through the drain hole. Other than that the car ran good.
