hey im about to change my wheels and suspension soon but i have a problem. Everytime im on a bumpy road, ESPECIALLY when wet, my car slides sideways everytime i hit a small bump or ground that isnt smooth. This sounds fun but good luck to me when im on a big road with more than one lane. I know my wheel alignment is stuffed and i know that everytime i hit a bump or go over a hump, it is very rough and kind of makes a thumping noise. Is that y its doing that sideways shit....how can i fix it too?
thanx

thumping sounds, hmmm... sounds to me like she's bottoming out on the bump stops, i reckon u need an alignment and ur shocks are rooted.... thats why ur hearing a thumping sound when the car hits the bumpstop. appart from that deffinately get an allignment!!! and be bloody careful, my car handle better then nost can it sits down at the front and the weight is more on the front wheels therefor giving me a bit better traction.. might be worth looking into, looks pretty gay, but handles good. good luck with it anyway mate, hoep u get to the "BOTTOM" of ur problem,

Get Pedders Suspension :)
along with King Springs for a stiff ride
get the springs when you get mags if you dont already have any
I just bought an exa, my car seems to be hitting the bump stops too
Gonna get the Shocks done then im gonna slap on some 16" Hyperfang Mags (maybe 17" if they fit without any hassles) along with Pedders Suspension and King Springs for that extra stiff ride :)

ok i got quotes on lowering my car and i was around the $1,300 mark for 4 new shocks and 2 super low kingsprings installed, then i went to another place and they quoted me 120 for the springs and 97 for install... so i gather shocks cost a bloody lot!!!! u do the math.

Chances are, if you are experiencing a change in direction when hitting bumps, I would start looking at the lower suspension arm, and the large bushing it rides in toward the firewall. If this bushing and the other lower arm bushing are shot/dry rotted, ti can cause the arm to move around and cause just what you describe.

I just got King Springs and Munroe Gt shockers in my baby for $985.oo. Considering my other quotes this was pretty good.
They ranged from $1100 to $1300. So no matter what shop around..:D

i would suggest the reason it kick out is due to the rear sway bar bushes being either flogged out or none existent the fron way bar really wouldnt effect the vehicle n this way and is more for cronering etc doesnt actually control the wheel geometry but the rear sway bar actually located the wheel if the bush is buggered you will be able to move wheel back and forward when vehicle is jacked up repace the bushes ASAP
