Okay boys and girls, i'd like to let you guys into my dirty little secret about my bodgy exa stereo. At the moment i have 2 12 inch sub running of a 200Watt RMS amp, wired at eight ohms. All these parts i had lying around the garage untill a few days ago. The thing is i wanteds a stereo but i didn't want to spend anything, i.e. i didn't want to buy a head unit. So i decided to wire up the subs to the stock head unit. But wait it gets bodgier!!!! The thing is my standard CD player is stuffed amd the rear speaker outputs don't work, so that leaves me with only one set of outputs. Plus my amp only works bridged at sub crossover for some reason, so that meant i couldn't just hook everything upto the amp. I.e. front speaker and subs to one amp.
By now i'm getting shittty, and suddenly i'm hit with isperation. I wire up the outputs of the head unit with RCA plugs and then also splice in two extra wires in parralel from the plugs to feed the front speakers.
Now this is the scary part...it sounds awesome. The subs hit hard, the fronts run clear. Its bloody amazing, i'm really fased. I never imagined i could get it to sound so good.

Well thats my little achievment, a full sic sound set up which cost me nothing.

PS-The reason i'm not spending money on my stereo is cause i'm working on the engine, i'm not that bodgy.

yeh theres just a little bit of a chance of it over heating and blowing an IC *which costs a shit load to fix* due to it having a higher load on just the 2 front wires!

But i think that you should be fine!

What have you got it grounded to? (just curious)

got a lug sitting on the spare tire bolt in the back, in the remote is hooked up to the audio fuse. I screewed the amp under the plastic base of the boot so there is no sign of it, cept to speaker wires to the subs.
