g'day all,

I was wondering how much work is involved in fitting 6x9's into both the front and rear of the NX?

Thanks,
Mek

why do u wanna put 6x9's in the front? .. i say get a nice set of splits for the front and leave the 6x9's for the back... it wouldnt be to hard to fit them.. just cut some holes in the parcel tray :)

Gotta agree 6x9's all round = pain in the arse, I had fusion plate speakers in the front and alpines in the rear, go a straight swap if ya can makes life a hell of a lot easier

There's not much point using 6x9's in the front from an audio perspective. It'll also be impossible without using door pods due to the shallow mounting space available - I barely fit my 6" drivers with 24mm spacers! Go for a nice pair of splits to give you some good staging.
I'd also recommend a 10" or 12" sub in the boot if you want some bass, and just use whatever rear speakers you have for rearfill. 6x9's will give you decent bass, but their oval shape isn't too great with bass.

I know it'll cost a fair penny for a complete setup but rrust me, do it right the first time. I learnt the hard way :) If you can't afford it then do it in steps, starting with the splits.

I agree with wheelspin - Probably the best setup for an NX is splits in the front, 6" drivers in the stock location in the rear and sub/s in the boot.

just remeber when buying the 6x9 to check the mounting depth. My old Alpine Type R's had a huge magnet and didn't fit unless i made a bracket that raised the speaker 3".

What size speakers can fit in the speaker slots in the back seat's, i need rear speakers since my parcel tray is broken and carnt use the speakers in it, :blinklook
i am stuck with only front speakers

I've got 6.5" speakers in the stock location. Don't know how hard they were to install though as they were there when I brought it. I think there is a metal bracket used which would probably require a bit of cutting to fit them.

the original stock rear speaker should be 6" instead of 6.5" i Think
the reason is that i have a 6.5 and the mounting point does not fit
need to dril new hole.

anyway don't think should put a 6x9 in the front, agree with wheelspin, if want some bass
put a sub, putting a split in the front is much beter

They're 6" speakers but you should be able to fit some 6.5" speakers in there. You'd just have to drill some new holes to secure the new speakers.
