Its annoying , my last NX had it , this one has it , and my friends one has it too. It sounds like a coathanger rattling around under the wheel arch on the rear passengers side. Does anyone know what it is , or have experienced the same?? How the hell do you get rid of it ????? :?: :?:

Take your interior apart, there might be something in there thats come loose, I have found a similar thing in other cars, esp coupes that have plastic molded panels in the back.

I have something similar in my car only it's coming from the A pillar on the drivers side. I've been meaning to pull the interior apart for weeks but it will have to wait a little while longer since my car is at the crash repairers at the moment.

Take the panels off and check for loose bits. Also check the boot. You never know, you might get lucky and find a couple gold coins :king:
I have somthing similar in my rear passenger sideskirt area. But I know what it is - it's my fault. I dropped a bolt into a small hole about the size of a 10c coin, and now I can't get it out because the small hole is the only way in or out! Now it rattles around when my car accelerates, stops, turns etc etc :goober:

i had a bassey clicking noise coming from an arch too ( i thought it was the arch) so i jacked it up and noticed scratch marks around the nuts on one of the rims and saw the nuts were all loose... someone tried to nick my rims. Lucky for the locked nut!! far fetched reason but worth a look!:)

If its making the noise while the car is turned off it could be your fuel pump, my brother has this problem all the time, if it doesnt happen when the car is not turned on then forget this.

ive got the same problem, havnt noticed it much late but when i first got my car id hear this noise coming from the back. it was very randomised, probably due to the road surface or something.

I had this and solved it. All i get now is the noice from my rear shelf which is unavoidable i guess.

Just behind your rear wheel you will find a join in chassis and sort of like a verticle bar that runs up the car. I found those parts rubbed. So when i got my car painted i got as much of that welded up as possible. Sikaflex worked termporarily also. If you go to that on your cars and give it a shive you might find it will make the noise your thinking of, if so you know what it is at least......

It runs up behind the inner skin. You can only see a certain part of it. I will have to have a look at mine next time im at the shop so i can describe better. I havent mucked around with that for like 18months. If you fool around in there you will see what i mean.

lol, I had a noise coming from the back of my car under acceleration... couldn't tell where

Found a 10c peice under the backseat... seems to have cured the noise...

Sure must've done a lot of sliding around

I bet it is the hook that holds the rear sway bar and muffler hangar. I have seen a lot of those that have broken. Look for a hook that had 2 threaded holes that holds the swaybar bushing and the muffler hangar. In the right side pass rear wheelwell.

Thanks - it seems to be this. it is moving around a little. Sikaflex works ok for the time being, i will probably weld it also. Much better now.

Thanks again

is it the vertical piece of metal that is behind the plastic cover on the side that is closer to the back of the car?

Fantastic! Very happy to hear that.

DJ Acid.
Its very hard to explain. Stick you head in the boot and look toward the passenger side suspension tower. Pull back all the carpet there. Approx half way between the suspension tower and the extreme rear corner of your car, you will find just metal work. Look there and you will see the verticle rod / car we are talking about. Let us know if your still having trouble mate.

I've screwed every screw in the back and checked everything, I can't really understand what you guys are referring to with the bars under the car so if possible could anyone provide pictures at all? It's really driving me crazy ?!??!?!
