side skirts

hey all,
i looked at an nx today, sr20, yey,
but i noticed it didnt have the side skirts?? why is this?? i thought they all came out with them, btw its a 94 model

there are 2 main model types from my knowledge
NX coupe
and NX-R

the NX has no skirts and less fetures
NX-R has the skirts + more options

im sure someone will know the exact answer

Just go to the bottom of the History Page (http://www.nissanexa.com/exa/history1.htm) on this site by clicking on the "exa info" link on the top of every page to check out the differences. Sounds like you were looking at an NX, not the upgraded NX-R.

Ok NXR has the following over the NX:
- power windows
- cruise control
- leather sterring wheel, gear boot (& handbrake?)
- side skirts, rear sploer & front spoiler + foggies
- colour coded lower rear bumber
- standard air conditioning
- ABS
- larger brakes

Anyone know if the wiring is already there, might just need to add the ABS comp thing, and swap over the braking system?

Each Nx-r year model is a little different - 94 should have come with a cd player down the bottom instead of the storage compartment if its an NXR , and some small interior changes , i'll check my nissan manual and find out some more for you.

why does mine have side skirts? it dosnt look like an nxr with the options
the only options on mine are
power mirrors, air, t-top, ABS brakes pads(but dosnt have ABS)

chowie, I would guess that you have an NX but the previous owner put the R side skirts and ABS pads on?

Much harder than that, you need the ABS computer in the passenger footwell along with all the brake lines, pumps and hoses underneath the bonnet (on the passenger side too, mounted on the firewall).

Its probably not worth installing the ABS anyway, its not a very good system. The ad22vf brakes it come with are though. You can install them pretty easy, just need pads, rotors and calipers. The rear brakes are the same for abs and non-abs nx coupes.

i was soo disappointed after readomg my manual to know that nxr's come with a cup holder and mine didnt have one, it seem rather stupid thing to say but there is not that much spase to stik stuff like a drink when u have passengers, but i soon soted it out i use the center console sine i broke the lid on it in the first week of owning my car

Cupholder? Maybe in europe, but definately not in Australia. You can fit one of those $50 Aerpro coin/drink holders in the lower DIN slot, but you will probably bump it in 1st 3rd or 5th gear.

I got one from an nx from Hong Kong
but is a nx 1600 not nx or nxr
by the way thos 1600 cc ( jap spec) i think got digital dashboard as well
I got one now but need to do too much modification that is why now sitting in my room :p

i got no drink holder and NO AC....
after the last few days in syd im thinking im gonna need it.....
i can imagine its a big job but i got a guy who can source the AC (all parts) for around 900 delivered.....yous think its worth th e hassle and all that???

remember if u really want to get a cup holder u need to change the ( central cover as well)
the piece of plastic cover the sterio as that piece is a bit difference. from wat i know only nx 1600 got the cup holder. try to have a look at the pulsar n14 if there is cup holder, i think u can use that parts as well, as it seesms that the pulsar n14 have the same central consol as NXR

Hi, please tell me what is the difference between the NX 2000 and the NX-R?
Here in Germany we have only the NX 1600 and the NX 2000.

NX2000 should be the same as NXR as both of them also use sr20 engine.
Here in australia, nx and nxr also use sr20 but R got additional feature like abs, larger disk break and electric window.

by the way germany got got nx with 1.6 engine isn't it?

yeh overseas they have the 1600 with the ga16de motor while the 2000 has the sr20de motor.
