My 1993 NX 2000 just developed a problem with the warning lamps.

I haven't seen it yet, but my wife said that the ABS, Oil, and Brake lamps all remained lit when she started the car -- then, as she backed up to leave they went dark for the duration of her 50 mile drive.

When she started the car again, they began flashing intermittently but in unison.

I have the Nissan service manual, but in looking at the schematic I cannot see anything that these lamps have in common that would cause the all to light up at the same time.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Thank you.

sounds to me like a power spike

starter moter draws alot of power to kick the car over, and when you do everthing (sterio, lights, ect) surn off for a brief second then turn back on. I wouldent worry about it, if they were all constently on then id worry, but not if they flash on when u start up

All lights come on when you have the key in the ON position but before it's started. When you then try to start the car they blink while the power is used to start the car before returning to the off mode (unless they actually have something to warn you about). This sounds like what your talking about, and it's perfectly normal, i'd start worrying if they didn't do this (because then your warning lamps aren't working as they should)

The only thing that blinks is the seatbelt warning light.
If the Battery and check engine or Antilock light flash, the alternator is on the way out.
