hey guys just wondering if anyone has taken off the black strips that run down the middle of the sides of our cars. You know the ones right in the middle that start from the front bumper and go completely around. Well has anyone taken off the side ones, is there like a ditch where they use to sit or is there nothing, cause it would look mighty stylish if they weren't there. Just wondering.

the ones on the bumper you can't take off becuase they are appart of the plastic on the bumper... however people have painted over them, or in some case's *some one can't member who* has painted them red.... looked really nice too

I know who you are talking about BENRYS, he didn't paint them, it was edited from photoshop. Still looked good though.

Once the trim moulding is removed there will be an inward groove that can be either filled in flush with the door's surface or left inward. Most members just have them resprayed body colour.

Ben is right the front and back stripes are part of the bumpers. It looks better if you leave the side strips on and paint them cos you'll have an indent like an 80s holden. Plus those rubber strips stop your paint getting scratched if a door is openened into your car.

Kameleon has his painted white to match his car - this looks really good. Paddy has his colour-coded red which looks okay. Somehow though i think the red exas like mine look better with the black left there. If you get your car resprayed a non-factory colour for sure go for it and get it all done.

one thing i forgot to mention...

the paint for the black strip will be different to the metal paint... because paint for plastic is always different as it doesn't stick to the paint to well... must make sure you tell you spray dude, otherwise you'll be doing what trav did... taking it back when it flakes...
