taking off rear view mirrors

im in the process of having my rear view mirrors colour coded, just one thing... they are electric and i cant get them off! there is a lead that goes from the door panel to the mirror, im guessing ill have to take apart the door and erm disconnect the wire? is it hard to do? id really like to cc the mirrors, just getting them off! anyone done somethign similar?

leave them on the car and tape up any thing you domt want paint on

If you have the mirror seperate from the door except for the power wire, all you have to do is take out your front speakers, run your hand up the wire and find the connection plug.

or you can do what i did and cut the wires and put a connecting plug of your own on there where its easier to get to. I have had to change my friggen mirrors several times cause my car is parked behind my house and some little shithead keeps knocken em' off. I swear if i ever catch him:mafia:

We undid the 6 screws on the mirror, took out the speaker and unplugged it. Put in the new mirror and 'wallah' :cheers:

Yes a big thanks it was soooo much easier than Rhys ripping apart my door trim....and soldering?? And I only broke one nail undoing that stupid plug!;)
