I just realised if I get 17" rims it's going to be painfully noticable how tiny the brakes are on the nx... is there another car with better braking that I could easily swap on?

Just get some nice DBA slotted rotors, otherwise there's a few brake kits you can get for your car :)

get the AD22VF front brakes with some nice rotors and do a good caliper paint job. In the rear, you could use the rear brakes from the same vehicle if you don't already have rear discs... if you wanna go all out, check out these big-brake kits! www.fastbrakes.com, look under anything that says B13!

yah the gtir brakes will be a perfect fit for the nx, but sone nice vented drilled and slotted sisc's would look sweet as

oh and yah get some heatproof paint from repco and alike and use that (think its about $16 a can)

doesn't the NX-R already have AD22VF brakes? :burnout:

^^Yup. Nx2000/NX-R came with the AD22VF. Fastbrakes makes quality brake upgrade for Nissan with a reasonable price tag.

Theres a $1500ish fastbrakes upgrade kit for the NX (actually for pulsar though), and its huge.

I dont see any problem with the stock brakes though, if you have good pads/rotors/fluid they are great. BTW, AD22VFs are only fitted to NX with ABS, and are fitted to N15 SSS Pulsars and GTi-Rs too. The rear brakes on all NX are the same as the rears for N14 2L pulsars are too. Sure they might look a bit small under 17s, but at least they arent lancer brakes.

thanks for the infos, will look into the nxr brakes... I only have a standard nx...

yah the current brakes are tiny compared to 17s, there is another point here, although I dont know how relevant... because the size and weight of the wheel itself increases the mechanical disadvantage gets worse for the braking system, and I've already found the brakes to be... just ok

sucks but, need to save up some serious $$... its looking like wheels, tyres, kit, springs maybe shocks and maybe brakes will all be done at one time :\
