This is the quote for new EFI Engine(I have carby At The Moment) that will take 16 PSI, Haltech E6H & a garret ball bearing turbo.

$7,300 All Up, that sound pretty good?

Engine put out over 200kW at the wheels.. well thats what i've been told, so I hope its right.

We could build a motor to handle the turbo application for around the
$2000.00 to handle up to 16 psi boost maximun.

From there a computer system like a Haltech E6H would set you back around
$1800.00 and we could design a turbo manifold and turbo, dump pipe for around the $3500.00 with a garret ball bearing turbo etc.

Ok, for that price, its ready to go on gas.. thats NOS not LPG (after LSD).

It'd be pretty beasty, even if I do get a new car(exa or skyline) im still going to do the magna up, its got enought power as it is, but I just want to see how far I can go with it.

Hey,
hehe yeah - would be beasty... But jusdt couple of things to consider... You could get the haltech a bit cheaper, the turbo doesnt have to be a brand new unit (Ie buy a $400 turbo), the manifold can be made at good exhasut shops for around $500 etc. You could take a good 2-3 grand off that price if you were keen...

Kewl, well cheaper is better, more $$$ for neons.. lol.

Waiting on a reply from them, ill ask them if they can do that instead.

Thanks.

I have to say man....... fuck you're keen doing that to a magna, out of all cars to do it to. But, I've had the same said to me about doing up my car.

Each to their own I guess.

(Btw, completely off the topic, can I ask: what the fuck does "tuna-fly-battery" mean or stand for, it seems like a bunch of completely random words shoved together, like chicken-fart-tyre? Not dissin you, but what the?)

I can just picture Dan's Magna with 200 wheel kw's, lights go green and off goes the engine and wheels, leaving poor 3 diamond still at the line ;)

TunaFlyBattery
10th January 2003, 01:14 PM
lol, yea it'd go something like that.
Argueing with the guys at RPW over price at the moment.

BTW, TunaFlyBattery was made the same as chicken-fart-tyre, was from a random generator, went thru a list of 1000 and this was my favorite.

What should I tell them? I don't mind spending so much on it, but is the price a decent price to pay for all of it?

I can assure you we are a Haltech Dealer and we are qouting standard Haltech prices. That price was not an exact price so it is probably a little cheaper.

Yes you could use a 2nd hand turbo that is correct and but you need a fairly large one usually a TDO5H which are hard to find.

The manifolds can be made at an exhaust shop but it comes down to qaulity.

no offence man.. but you'd have t be fuckin insane to turbo a magna.. if i had the cash to be thining about something like that... id be loking at buying either a skyline R32 gtst or a MR2 turbo and starting with something a little more performance orientated than a grocery getter.

hey.. ever considered a lancer GSR?? nice car.. AWD.. 1.8 comes boosted standard.. look the goods.. go well..

Works paying for the skyline, this is just something to fuck with and wreak instead of thrashing the skyline.

Nice one chicken-fart-tyre, sounds like a plan.

I think you should change your name on here to chicken-fart-tyre, now that's "twisted". Sorry, I'm just proud of my little random word thingy.

I take it your pretty young, and everybody always luvs their first car, ireally wanted to do up my 75 rolla, but i was practically given my next car, then after that was a pulsar and then my exa, but truly once the magna's sold you won't miss it. Beside's they're so damn ugly, get some powa in somethin else

Bugger off the magna and get an 82 sigma. Looks better, goes better, rear wheel drive, cheaper parts, simple engine bay (old-school) design, lighter. My first car was an 82 GL model. Beautiful metallic green duco, 2.6L, 5spd manual, triple webers, extractors. My folks got it that way from factory. I miss that car - it went like the clappers. They are 80s cool (like an N13 exa) not 80s tacky (like a subaru vortex!). Cheap to insure too, and a cordia turbo will bolt on if you want boost.... :afro:

Hey,
no way matt. I love those Suby's!!! I reckon one dumped ould like sick. With a B4 motor under the hood and 2 Apexi Dunk mufflers out the back, it would look cool and go cool too... Damn it - buy one of them Dan!!!
