Okay well someone asked me a while ago to post a pic of the custom heatshield/box I made to house my pod, and due to work being so flat out, I had a poke about and found it, so here is the pic.

Thanks, and you know what, no one really liked the stop sign at the end of my street, cheapest aluminium I ever "bought".
Might still have all the templates at home in the workshop, maybe I will dig them up, scan them and post them on here.
Most expensive part was $15 for powder coating and $12 for hex head s/s screws

Nice! Is it completely sealed? I have a completely sealed one made from 4mm thick plastic/formica but it doesnt look as pretty as yours :p

In the pic it isnt but when I made the front plate I brazed on an aluminium intake pipe and ran it into the inner guard, nice induction roar with plenty of nice chilled air

Off topic but removing stop signs demonstrates a narrow psyche towards other road users. Even if it’s a remote road and carries occasional low density rural traffic, you can’t guarantee people unfamiliar with the intersection, say other members of this forum, may decide to travel the given route and have a Mack run over the top of them.
According to the Australian Bureau of Transport’s 2001 inquiry ‘Anatomy of a Road Fatality’, the combined economic and social cost of each road fatality exceeds $1.5 million. This is inclusive of everything from the moment an ambulance is dispatched to beyond the day of the funeral.
But, then again you did save $20 on sheet metal and you have to have your priorities. And I imagine, although you may directly cause a road death, that your heatshield's presence is a sufficiently comforting placebo when you’re motoring around with a <1%hp gain.
So here’s my proposal:
I’m coming to break into your car, steal your heat shield, strip the powdercoating, flatten it, weld sheet metal to create a hexagon, sand, paint it red, write STOP on it and nail it to your street! I then write up thread here, HOW TO MODIFY A HEATSHIELD INTO A STOPSIGN.
(Just kidding with the previous paragraph, I have nothing bad to say about you but I've spent time as a paramedic and I think you could have thought twice when creating your admittedly impressive heatshield, by far the best homemade effort I’ve seen. Too many people throw on a pod and leave it at that, without realising it's a useless upgrade drawing hot, low density air from engine bay. Just source your materials elsewhere!)

True, but accidents caused by missing signage DO happen, seen it too many times.
Ask yourself... if you're in a road accident and die, or even worse how about you split your carotid arteries, suffer a cerebral haemorrhage and aquire brain inqury, it just wouldn't be fair if it were through no fault of your own! Roads are deadly enough without people adding to it like this.
