Hey guys

I just done a quote on a turbo nx to see how much it will cost. They quoted me $3174 which isnt bad. My question is this, apart from insurance is it a necessity to get an engineering certificate... whats the advantages and disadvantages of this.

:hello:

fark, thats steep considering its a straight bolt in.
dunno about nsw laws, but here in vic, I think mainly its piece of mind.....if you do get pulled over and have a certificate its road worthy items only...kinda like that feeling.
Seconded only to Insurance, Insurance and insurance, wouldn't you hate to write it off and waste all that $$$$, too bad if you hit a porshe or something.
and Thirdly, would up re-sale value as its no longer an illegal turbo conversion.
Well that's my theory and I'm sticking by it ! lol

well i had to get a mod plate here in qld. but yeah its just peace of mind to have one. they'd prolly take your car away if your caught with out one..
is $3174 just for the install? or does that include engine?

Certificate covers your *rse.

As mentioned, will provide some 'protection' during a roadworthy inspection.

Secondly, without one it provides an excuse for your insurer to reject any claim - they may require you to obtain one anyway...

And Thirdly, it should help resale value - the buyer can get a nice fuzzy feeling about (1) and (2) themselves..

my quote from just cars was $1000 and $1200 from shannons for full comp with a $1000 excess ($400) if over 25, there isnt too many companies that will insure your car so make sure you get quotes from all of the few that do.
