heya all,

my boost gaige has decided not to show any vaccuum in the engine??!!

when i boost up, the gauge works fine in the psi section but after blowing out the pressure the gauge only goes back to 0 psi (or occasionally to 1 or 2 pound Hg, whatever units it is). the car seems to run fine.

does this sound to u guys like a gauge problem or is the engine really running at 0 psi all the time for some reason?

btw it is an autometer boost gauge.

nissan exas have a mind of their own when it comes to electrics. my standard boost guage seems to always be in the negative section while driving

My exa's factory boost gauge, always sits on the bottom (-5 psi or wateva it is) unless i throttle on and then it goes up and down depending on how much i am depressing the pedal....is this normal? or is it supposed to sit in the middle (0 psi)?

I dont know all that much about turbos and one of my mates said that it should never be in the minus & that i might have a leak somewhere.

I thought id ask on here to see what people with other n12s get. Is this normal? I do notice that my car does make a bit of a hissing sound as well thats what made me think maybe its not supposed to happen. The car does seem to run fine tho, but then again i only recently bought it and wouldnt know what it was like before if this is a problem. I notice there is another aftermarket boost gauge in where the factory clock would have been...maybe the boost gauge wasnt working properly so he put another one in?

If it matters any, its a highflowed T02 on it at the moment.

Anyway thanks for any help guys. Much appreciated.

if the guage is not going to vacum on idle or cruising revs - then you have it T'd into the wrong spot. I'd suggest you try T'ing from another spot on the manifold.

there is no way your engine can run at 0 unless your turbo is constantly spooling.
my guess is that you have your vacuum line running from the wrong side of the throttle body, the line must come from the engine side of the throttle body not the turbo side.
