Hey peeps
My lil bros interested in an NX

can you all let me know the differences between the normal NX (sr20de only) and NX-R

I found the NXR weighs a lil more + has ABS brakes and alloy rims (14x6 wit 195s)

Anything else i should know about? Interior, exterior features... whatever :)

Thanks

Here is wat NXR has compare to NX
1. bigger rear break disk
2. electric window
3. front lips, rear spoiler and side skirt
4. fog light
5. cruise control
6.ABS

Since some ppl like to put spoiler on their NX
the best way to identify is c if they have electric window

That is my tips!!
Hope can help u :p

Also with interior the NXR's have a leather gear bag, and steering wheel cover. Pretty sure they come with 2 head decks, but I'm not sure if the NX's come with both too. But yeah to distingush between them both Electric windows and ABS are the things to mainly look for. Good luck with it.

This it not so. It depends on the dealer option at time of purchase. If you opted for CD player, then yes, you will have two seperate head units. Just like the grey band around the body, that was a option too.

No we never got the 1.6 new, not to say there is none in Aus tho, i have seen plenty. We also got limited colours in Aus also compared to other countries.

NXR's also got rear speakers!! Gotta love those 4 inchers!!

There are lots of little differnces, ppl could prob go on all day, like what you said, just buy a NXR

Mate i find that slightly odd.

With the money you spent on your exhaust / filter setup, you could have been driving the sr20 around for a few years, spending the extra on fuel, and have significantly more power at the same time.

Having said that, i hear that the 1.6 responds reasonably well to turbo'ing :driving:

Ye it wudnt make much power why u bother mod'n it?
sr20 wudnt of taken much more fuel and wud of gone a shitload harder :)

Ud still get beaten by stock sr20s wit ur mods lol

Remember people, Slapi3 is in Sweden! And it's not all about "getting beaten" by other cars....

Anyway, another tip - NXRs are heavier than NXs - probably why I've beaten modded NXRs with my NX! ha ha :teeeth: and I prefer not to have heavy electric windows that more often than not seem to cause problems for their owners (considering 10-13 yr old cars)! ABS can be annoying too (but of course there's positives).

Rear speakers are a +. Cruise control is a + but if you want to change your steering wheel you have to consider where you're going to put the cluster. The side skirts are + but a bit plain. The front bar is ok (better than the funny rocket-looking front that I have)... but the stock wing is nothing special.

Also check whether you want the grey stripe around the car or not - some have it already colour-coded while others don't and depending on what you like you might want to paint it later (more $$).

Oh and also check if it has air-con - apparently it wasn't standard even in NXRs.

Ok so that's my 2c.
See ya!

pffft, as if you wouldn't want power windows. I've seen you reaching accros your car to open a window :D

Oh, and ABS equipped cars have different front callipers/discs.

Deffinately go the nxr's, heaps better, and dood as for the 1.6 in the nx, i feel sorry for all u folk, you obviously wanted to go faster otherwise u wouldnt have modded it so much, tut tut, shoulda gone the extra yards and got the 2.0 litre, hey 500kms to a 46litre tank isnt guzzling fuel as far as im concerned :)

I changed the steering wheel on my nxr and the placement of the cruise control cluster isnt an issue, it has these long brackets that go into the steering wheel, these come in handy, the issue was reconnecting it, the original steering wheel has the contacts for the cruise controll on it, so i needed to pull apart the loom under the dash and find the correlating wires for the cruise controll and join it back up there, all good.
