Well, my car is getting there

I worked out the last and most annoying of noises, it was actually the a rear wheel bearing. Whoever last changed it didnt bother putting on the dust cap and the thing was running without grease!! Off to Ni$$an to get a new hub assembly, I did ask around about whether or not I could press in new bearings myself but expert opinion seems to be a resounding no :(

Nissan charge $257 a side for the rear wheel hubs, so you dont wanna be taking those off in a hurry. My grandfather machined my disks while we were at it, they were in a fairly poor state so that was a bonus.

Now all thats left to do is get into the timing chain cover to find wtf has broken off and is rattling around in the case.

And of course, still no word on the horrible 2500rpm power lag... although I'm booking it into ni$$an for a full diagnostics once I get a bit more cash free.

I've settled in up at QLD and will be reentering the workforce shortly so now the cars pretty much sorted I'll be looking at getting those 16" ultralights, stillen headers, sports exhaust and F1 window tinting.

Does anyone know where up here in bris I might be able to find someone wrecking NX-Rs? I'd like to go and aquire power windows and some kit peices for my baby :)

you think $257 is bad,I had my car full diagnostics at a nissan dealer and they said it had a bad, maf ($400 part) with dealer discout and or a distributor.
I just got the $90 fee to diagnose

hmmm wrecking nx.

I did the rounds in a lot of the wreckers in bris about a month ago, spent the day doing it. Couldnt find a thing. Most ppls are like whats a nx lol.

I would ring around first, its a mission tracking around all the yards. I think i saw a advert for a nissan wrecker down yatala way that claimed it had nx parts.. try the yellow pages for that one, tho i didnt go down there myself.

I know what you mean, I have been going around to these Nissan wreckers, even standard wreckers and they keep on telling me "Thats what you get for buying an import more rare than a Skyline or 180SX" I tell them its basically a Pulsar SSS with a different body. But yeah I have had problems finding parts.

NXRSR20, parts are plentiful down here in melbourne, also many parts are interchangable with the pulsar SSS. Pm me if you would like some contacts on parts.

OH yah it's bad... on my falcon before you could just change the bearings without doing the whole hub.... $40 per side

MIO => Thanks heaps. The mechanical parts aren't hard to find cause I know that the Pulsar SSS is basically the same, just looking for other parts that aren't interchangable.
