i couldnt find the other clear indicator thread, so heres one for the top indicators the bottom ones (indicator and park lite) are done with that diamond plastic stuff (thank you for the idea)
and the top ones beside the headlight are done with the other bit of the plastic on the sides which has the lines in it isntead of diamonds, this was quite hard to do, what ya need to do is cut out the yellow lens except for the walls which are attched to the white plastic, you will stiuck thge lens on to that. once you have that off, file the walls to they are flat and even, then get the plastic, cut it to an approximate size, (make it a little bigger), and then make the curved bit toward the back of the car, now i know you will be thinking "how do u get the curved bit" well the answer to that is the hairdryer! ;) heat it up and bent it to the contours of the indicator walls, now comes the hard part (as if the other bit isnt hard), you have to get a hole in the plastic to get the screw thru, but seeing as this has lots of etched lines down it, it will crack as soon as you try to dril it, what you need to do, it to get a soldering iron and burnb a amall hole thru it where the screw goes, with the hole started, you can then very carefully and slowly drill the hole by using a small bit then gradually using bigger and bigger bits, once this hole is drilled you may find that the factory screwq will not be long enough, you will need to get a replacemont, the only replacement it could find was bigger than the factory screw and so i had to drill out the mounting hole on the car a bit in order to get the screw to thread. once this it done use a sealant(clear) to attatch the new lens to the indicator walls, you will now have to attatch it to the car, and use insulating tape to press it down, do it accross the headlight and then the indicator and then the 1/4 panel, you will ahve to leave it for a while depending on the sealant manufacturers recommendations, when its dry, take the indicator out, and shape the lesn a bit more so it has straight edges, for this i used the soldering iron again, then a file.
it is now done and it works nice, i dont have a digital camera tho so i will have to get my film developed then scan it, it looks better thn the roiginal, but im not sure its worth the hassle, i would have rather painted the lens body coloured and put a new clear indicator on the panel...
oh well there ya go for those that were wondering how...
enjoy..
