want a free solution? Get a hacksaw, a drill and a stainley knife and cut your existing shifter down

Whats the difference between a shortshifter like that one, and just shortening your existing shift arm?
Not including the thread cuz I got a lathe so I can put a thread on anything I like :D

a short shifter actually reduces throw whereas cutting down your existing shifter increases feel, looks, etc, just makes it feel like a reduced throw, thats my understanding of it.

Thats hardly the same.
I have a short shifter sitting on my tv cabinet that i have yet to put in. The idea is that it reduces the 'throw'. If you just want the look, then yes, crack out the hacksaw and away you go.
If anyone wants a short shifter, have a look on Pulsar Group of Australia website, they do group buys from time to time, you will be able to pick one up there. Or yeah, ebay.

I bought that from the ebay, does make a little different, but now required more strength to change the gear. Actually not really bad on such a price.
btw it looks better after it is shorter:p

I got mine from the first PGA group buy. It cost me $47, and free installation (did it myself when i got my exhaust done). It has a nice feel to it. A bit hard for the g/f to get used to as it requires more strength (I made it a bit worse by cutting 1" off the top). Nice and notchy :)
Cutting the shifter above the pivot does absolutely nothing but make it look shorter. Actual short shifters are longer below the pivot, reducing the throw.
You CAN make your own by pushing the pivot up on your original shifter, but I'd rather just fork out the cash for something more reliable.
On a bad note, it makes my aluminium gearknob hot, as the heat travels from the cat and up the shiter to my gear knob. Not so bad in winter though :p

Ah those are my units!
See the thread i made!!!
Basically these shorten the throw of the shifter! Not just cut the levers length!
I am selling these for $90 inc postage for members of this club (if you are lucky you can get for $80 on ebay) but all have been going for above $100!!!
Need any info just PM me!
Also i only have 6 left in stock and wont have more for a short while!
Regards,
Craig.
EDIT: BTW for those of you that have installed and say it is harder shift that is because you have over tightened the pivot bolt!
