hey nice quick install... :D
question: how did you make the boot seal completely?
and how long did it take you to do?

master...
there are two boxes with in the trim panels...
each box was made out of double 3/4" mdf(so the whole box was 1.5" thick).
the boxes were mounted in the car and then the trim panels were made around the box to match the cars interior.
then all the vinyl was installed and fitted over all the mdf.
the vents at the bottom were my spl vents...i had other ones that would slide in the vent location so i could listen to music that hit lower frequencies.
the doors were all fiberglass that housed 8", 4", and 1" tweets-had all the highs to keep up.
the speaker wall took less than a day to build and install to operation.
the doors i put in about a day and a half on each one but they were all painted as well.
i used to do audio in a big way, but then i started to do alot of fiberglass boxes and found that i had a knack for the 'glass and started to make bodykits and weight shedding panels etc...
i have lots of pics of installs that i did and lots of installs that i dont have pics for.
not to brag but i was pretty quick at the installs but just sort of got turned off at the competitions due to the "no fun" factor.
it turned too competitive and just turned me off.
interested in more pics just let me know.

Sounds like it was a nice install ttrix
and ur reason for stepping away from audio is pretty much the same as mine - too competetive - lack of fundage - lack of carage
lol

Do you know arond how many decibals your stereo pumps out
TTriX
4th January 2003, 11:33 AM
honda hater...
you could say...pumped.
that car does not exist anymore either-haha
when my friend wrote her off she was hittin...
159.7dbs @ the windshield...same competition i did outlaw and put the mic at the mouth of the port daisy chained the amps to load one speaker(2500 watts@58hz) and hit 175.6 dbs, came home with two big trophies-hehe
that was the only comp that i hit with that bad boy as the summer was over and she got wrote off.
that was also over 3 yrs ago, so ya it was pretty loud back then.
i had two batteries in the back and two alternators under the hood...no shortage of power-hehe

hey ttrix how do you connect 2 alternators in an exa/pulsar - the engine bays are to small for that................lol

aaaaccckkk!!!!
who told you there was no room?...obviously they never tried-hehe
it's actually quite simple.
first take off the a/c pump.
get a second alternator with the double pully on it also.
then take all the plumbing out for the a/c as it will just be in the way.
take the second alt and loosen the three bolts that hold the alt together, then spin the housing one bolt pattern so the main mounts are off set.
mount the alt into its location with the one bolt on the side of it's original location, make up a second mount from the bottom of the motor and bolt that to the alt.
run one belt from the crank to the first alt then another belt from the fist alt to the second(this belt was hard to find as it was so small(i had to go to a place that makes belts and have it custom made).
then use the idler to adjust first belt, then adjust second alt like normal at the top.
tie the wires on the plugs the same but send the main wire off of one to the batteries in the back and the other to the car battery.
ground the back batteries to the frame and then you will have two separate charging systems!
i had my alt beefed so it put out 15.3volts@2500rpms with 119amps-that was the one i used for the stereo.
never say "cant be done"-hehe

oh ya...
the mount on the alt that would not be used sits close to the frame...so cut this off as if your mounts get a little bit stuffed when under load the motor twists puts pressure on the alt from touching the frame and snaps the bastard off...so cutting this piece off will keep it away from the frame-hehe

ok
sounds easy enough
lol
will have to wait until i get the time/car/fundage to try it

it's actually not that expensive to do...
cost include...one or two (plus more if you want)
batteries, second alternator, smaller belt that you could find at an auto supply store(depending how good they are), 4ga wire with a circut breaker or fuse, and some metal to make up a lower bracket to mount the bottom of the alternator.
and of course your time.
i was running the optima yellow tops in the back...costly but damn effective, i am sure i could have used reg batteries but these were calling me-hehe
good luck to all who try...it's a wise idea if your planning on running large stereo equipment as the power i was running with just 2 batteries in the back and the one in the front off of one beefed alt would make my car studder with the bass(if that makes sense to anyone) and run super rich due to the computer compensating for the power loss to the coils.
have fun

Well, unfortunately you haven't shown any numbers, at least not from what I can see here. You have to understand that a lot of us, including me, aren't going to take just anyone's word for how much horsepower/torque their car makes, let alone dB claims without evidence. This is especially true when the numbers are this high. We're not trying to be schmucks here, we just want something to go on.
So, let's see...
You're running Audobahn Ultra Excursion 18's-aw1805q? (which is odd, because all the ultra excursions I've seen have had a chrome colored trim, but hey, maybe it's a couple of years old).
We don't know what amps you're running, and there are only a handfull of amps that can be daisy chained together. We haven't seen the two alternators, we haven't seen the batteries or the cabling or the interior treatment as far as how everything is sealed... that leaves us with very little to go on.
So, just do me/us a favor and post pictures if you have them, or the exact brands/models of everything you're running and everyone's happy, you'll get the respect you seem to be wanting...

the reason i wrote that was i was going to write all sorts of offensive crap-hehe
but like i was going to say...if you read the meter behind my car then you will see, if you believe it or not is up to you's.
i am not going to do much in this forum anymore as i am going to stay local with my clubs.
this way anyone i see at our soon to be cruises and such will understand that i dont b.s. and i offer my help or services anytime.
it also has nothing to do with respect as i have had one of these cars for over 10 years and i just love them...now it's even better thanx to the creators of the canadian club as i have waited years to get something organized up here as for cruises and gatherings!
like i said before...you guys are too far away.
sorry for any probs and offenses, i will browse through here once in a while but not like i have been.
