:D Ha Ha LOL,no i dont know but f**k that would be expensive.....look at the size of those turbos and the intercooler....damnnnnnnnnnnn!

just try searching the overboost website and match up the pictures. just search for like twin turbo and narrow it down or something? who knows

That looks like a KKK turbocharger found in porsche and audi. Not sure about SC. Two turbos and a supercharger.WOW!!!!!

if only that would fit in my car..... i think i justcreamed in my pants

its all blitz

the blitz turbo's are based on the german KKK turbo's.
the intercooler is also blitz

i figure the supercharger is also blitz, check their catalogue.

hikari performance.com.au can get new blitz gear, if you really want that supercharger, you can call them

the supercharger will not suit a 1.8L 4 cylinder... too big!

can you repost that site jimi? or a link to it

the superahcnrger is a larger sized and different trimmed sc12 or sc14 type supercharger
the sc12 and sc14 are the two superchargers on toyotas 4 and 6 cylinger motors
1ggze six cylinder and the 4agze 4 cylinder motors
these r aftermarket made ones though are made by the same ppl who makle toyota blowers they have consealed oil and bearings so there dont need to be any lines hooked up just a belt
this one also seems not to have a clutch which is common of the aftermarket made ones
they r also made of different material
ure looking at over a grand for that type of charger
"too big for a 1.8"??????? wat the no problems my friend it aint that big! i used to work at a supercharger place and most of the stuff that went out had bigger superchargers and turbos then the actual motor!
it just takes more at the crank to generate opower at the motor
if u want a cheap style which i was experimenting with myself a while ago and may build up after my turbo motor
is a sc12 or sc14 wuith water to air intercooling on a stndard motor wqith aftermarket management keep the boost at say 6-7 which is standard with that pulley size(crankshaft end would have to be mopdified) and have torque like no other exa on the streets!
wouldnt cost a great deal either
mount the supercharger where the ac compressor "used" to be
sc12's can be had for as little as $200 and i believe the sc12's can be had for just more then that
happy hunting!
jap import wrecekers have these superchargers in abundance
i also recommend a subaru liberty water to air intercooler setup to do the trick;)
happy supercharging

ok, now we're talking.
so i call up the wreckers and ask for a sc12 supercharger?
or would you recomend the sc14?

also, to control boost pressures, couldn't i just use a BOV?
I'm planning on running the stock ECU.

air to water intercooler? so the water comming out of the rad would cool the air going into the engine?

no thast y u have to get the whole cooler system off a liberty
they have the core and tank(together) the pump the lines and the heat exchanger whihc is like a little radiator
the coolant/water is seperate from ure motors water supply
id go for a sc12 for its compactness but if ure more adventurous a sc14 for possibly more efficiency at higher boost
if u leave the throttle body where it is and run the supercharger all the time and have no idle/cruise air bypassing the supercharger then yes a bov is necessary
if u have any more question ssend me a message
controlling boost is a matter of pulley set ups
eg 1:1 2:1 etc
anything over 1 is obviously overdriving the supercharger and anything under 1 is under driving it
commonly heard arpund big v8 circles as underdriven and overdriven

Hey,
hehe - vrom vrom vrom -you gotta love the sound of a hihgly overdriven supercharged V8 ith straight cut gears.... mmmm Yes, I have old school tendancies now and then!

hmmmmmmmmm bad boats (blown alcohol displacement)
yum yum
methanol sucking big block 454's with 30psi running through them
now thast wat i call a scary ride for the skier!@!!!!

so, anyone can work out the minimum cost of putting in the supercharger?get it run safety?

KAMELEON
2nd May 2003, 08:37 PM
ok base supercharger about $200
copper headgasket 2mm thick about 200-300$
exhaust system and intake hmmmmmmm $500-$1500
pulley fabrication and mounts etc$50-$200
remap ecu$who knows it varies so much
better clutch$180
intercooler$depends front mount vr4 $400 water to air$similar or less money
look it depends how much u can scronge and how cheaply u can find parts labour is plentiful but the reward would be mountainess torque at very low revs
i believe running the standard motor with 8.5:1 comp as the copper headgasket would give would be ok infact fine with the 7 psi teh supecharger would be running
u could experiment once complete
no it isnt cheap but wat performance mods after the easy ones r?
it goes from a small step/s to a large jump money wise

that's a pretty expensive gasket.
my compression is 8.5:1 as it is (pretty sure anyhow), so would i still need the copper gasket?
intake and exaust will be very cheap for me (I know a muffler shop well)
I have a HD clutch already
gonna use stock ecu program.

so.
super : 200
exaust: 150
pulleys: 50
air/water intercooler setup: lots (new from subaru dealership probably)

so $400 + intercooler($800) = $1000 AUS, so about 900 Canuck Bux.

Hey,
Sr20_Turboexa --> Then why the fuck reply?

And yeah - the price of a copper head gasket sounds expensive at first - but whenb you start replacing standard units at $80 a pop, you'll see teh value of the stronger, re-useable copper headgasket.

i see your point there, but if I have a 8.5:1 compression, what will it drop to with a 2 mm space added in?
and if compression drops, then i assume that i could increase the boost as well. eh?

KAMELEON
4th May 2003, 02:43 PM
well if thats ure comp id say use the standard gasket till it blows!
or get a metal or copper the same height as standard
but 8.5:1 aint standard....
anyway u can overrun the supercharger with smaller crank and supercharger pulleys but be careful u rnt overdriving the waterpump
or ancillaries
about 14-15 would be the limit before ure making boiling hot air
so use that as a limit but if u retain the clutch u can turn it off for cruise and get excellent fuel economy
make sure it doesnt ping and use different coils to standard so u dont have coil dramas and it should reward u with great low down torque!!!!
