Just out of interest, how much kilowatts does say a 1992 or 1993 180sx produce. Does the manual differ from the auto in terms of power (not gear change)?
ight thanx in advance.

well if it's got an SR20det (I think all 180s did) then it's around 160kW at the flywheel stock.

145kW im sure. Only about 30 more than say a heavily modded exa. But it's rwd so they have better traction.

Just out of curiosty - Where did you hear a rear wheel drive is better for traction?
Last I knew fwd was way better for traction and better cornering.

I don't know about traction in general, but for take offs, RWD is always going to be more efficient.
As for better cornering, i think that's all personal preference, I love FWDs, but seriously, most race-bred cars are RWD for a reason...

rear wheel drie cars have better traction
that is why it is a shite load harder to get a quick fwd down the drag strip
but fwd still have their advantages

Hey,
I think they mean in general, not i ndrag racing... Anyone remember the Volvo's in hte Aus supertouring rounds??? They'd start from pole, go back to like 5th and 6th due to poor start (lack of traction) and then round the field up after a few laps... Sweet as

RWD have better traction in take of but FWD are much safer 2 drive (especially in rain)
e.g My cousin spun his RWD cressida when turning in the rain but if it was a FWD, it wouldn’t have spun.
but AWD rips both rwd and fwd in take off and saftey

anyone ever had to stop on a steep hill in a fwd in the rain and take of again ??? any one that could make a decent u-turn on a regualr sized road. anyone ever noticed how you have practically no steering under acceleration ??
my point, front wheel drives have nothing over rearwheel drives (well in my opinion)
