Hey,
well - if your new pump is an in-tank pump - the nyes, you will have to remove your old fuel pump. However, if your new pump is not an in-tank style pump - you can leave your current pump in the tank and use it as a pre-pump for your new pump. this can be done by simply putting your new pump inline with your existing lines or, by installing a surge tank.

definately run a surge tank because if one pump pushes 2 bar pressure and the otehr is pushing the same amount then at full noise it is quite possible u will be supplying way way too much fuel then u need this makes the fuel pressure reg work alot harder then it should and running the pumps light will ensure they have a longer life go the surge tank approach and kill two birds with one stone

Hey,
a surge tank is just a little tank that your old fuel pump fills up - your new high output pump will then take teh fuel from this little tank and send it to your injectors. Any overflow fro myour injectors gets sent back to the surge tank and if the surge tank gets full - it overflows back to the fuel tank. This insnt he best picutre, but it should give you an idea - if you want a more detaild pic - I could go take one if you want...

itd be a better foto if u got that random chitch on the left in the entire pic;)
just make surfe that the pump u have there isnt a internal and doesnt need to have fuel all around it
these pumps r only suited to internal use dude to the bleed system they use when they overpressure the excess fuel just pours out wchich in a standard in tank unit is great buit not a external if u want to stay alive..

Hey,
presumably in the tank itself. OM top of the tank you should be able to find where your fuel lines go in and out of the tank... These are what you'll need to find

There's two wires that go into the tank that's it. but I guess I'll try and follow my fuel lines.

ALRIGHT IT'S INTERNAL I THINK I'M GOING TO REPLACE IT WITH A 300ZX (87) INTERNAL PUMP. LET ME KNOW WHAT U THINK.

well i dont know those pumps really well u will have to measure them and their filter gauze size u wnat them at the same height as standard or u will have problems
id still run the surge tank idea because it kills two birds with one stone last thing u wnast iss fuel surge at high rpm around turns or hard accelration
but if u insist on in tank go for something like a skyline gtr pump they have proven their worth many a time inmy friends silvias

teh regulator should not have problems, its job is to regulate and typically regs require 20% bleed thru the ass for it to actually regulate(no wavering!!!)
the std nissan pumps are shite, get a boschy.... one off a camira even works(MPI)i get 700 kpa deadheaded(reckon itll support 400hp not that im near 150!!!)
