lol..
ok.. here is how i do it..
firstly - notice my parkers are still on (the white/clear lights near the indicator)
1. Turn lights fully on so they pop up and are lit up.
2. Move the light switch down one notch - so that the parkers are still on DO NOT turn them fully off
** Here is a diffrence, other exas lights go down, and some stay up,If your lights go down then goto direction number 6 ( you cant do it.. sorry :( )
3.You have to be quick at this part... turn the lights fully off BUT turn them back to the parker position ( first notch ) while the lights are going down..
**By doing this it should hopefully make the lights stop... most other exa lights either go right back up, or keep going down.
4. Keep flicking from the parker position and off-position with the light switch to find the right level u like..
5. When you find the right level that u are happy with, then just leave the switch in parker position
7.When done showing off / driving, turn the light switch off
6. End - happy driving

words of warning :
I know that if the headlight relays are trying to go down or up, but cannot move the motor, it is a fire risk. I'm not sure if in that position the motor is trying to put it down or up at all, but i'd be cautious.
I s'pose one way of checking would be to listen very carefully to one of the headlights when they're "squinting", and if periodically you hear a "buzz" (a very faint one), I'd stop doing it....
When i crashed my car, and one headlight was obliterated, the relay kept trying to put the light down. I left it 3 hours, tried to take the relay out, and couldn't do it easily because the relay felt like it had been put in the microwave for a minute on high....

You know what, I would have to agree with Warren. Back in the fall one night I got home and turned off my lights and the drivers side didn't go down all the way. I turned it back on and it struggled to go up. Off again and it stopped about half again. Back on and it didn't budge. The passenger side didn't even move so I got out and all I heard was the motor running. Messing around with it some I eventually go the light up and left them up. Next morning I took a look and somehow the wire for my strobe lights got caught in the pivot arm. Since remembering that I don't think I will try the sleepy eyes.

my one doesnt do it.
one way to do it is to disconnect the motor from the battery and wind it manually, unfortunately this way they wont go fully up when the headlights are on.

there is a unit that you can buy that will allow you to do this with out any risk...it allows you to control the height of your headlamps from 30 to 100% up...with an interior switch/knob
i posted it on the old board but i will try and find it again.

if you're not planning on doing much night driving you can disconnect the pug on the moror, its the one with 6 pins, disconnect that then just wind it..

i've posted up on here how to do squinty eyes a million times now but since some people have found this old thread i better tell u again for those who missed the other million times i posted it.
Step 1. pop bonnet/hood and locate set of relays that run along side the battery.
Step 2. Remove cover to set of relays and pull out the black relay closest to the windscreen....
Step 3. Go inside the car and press the wash mode (stay up button) twice (as if to pop up lights and put them back down, however lights will go up and not come down)
Step 4. go back under bonnet and use motor winders to wind the headlights to desired hieght. (if lights go up and down evenly this can be achieved by tapping relay quickly back in position then removing it instead of winding manually)
Note: once squity eyes are performed the headlights will come on normally at night however once they are turned off the lights will go out but the lights will stay up, either replace relay and they will go down or wind them down to squinty again.
Legal stuff: I Lachlan McCann along with the nissan exa club accept no responcibility for any damage caused by this modification, this is to be done at the individuals own risk, with saying this i have done personally performed this mod hundreds of times on numerous cars and never had a single problem. there should not be a fire risk because the relay has been removed and the motors have no power going to them... again this can change if the car has faults and if u are unsure consult an auto electrician! happy squinting,
