Hey,
well - it cost me nothing as it was a conviniently shapped off cut from dads bike. To get a bit that size, you'd be looking at around $40-$60... I wouldnt pay it, but if the off cut is there - why not! Got a bit more left, but Im gonna use that in other spots - befor my old man thinks of uses for it!!!
And no - carbon fibre has pretty good heat properties... And in this case- its not really there to soak up the heat - but deflect the hot air.. a Bit of carboard would do the job - just look tatty...

Hey,
hehe - its mine!!! lol, got about half way thorugh the large pipe installation - and as expected - is a large amount of work due to the size of the hose. I have had to cut away a fair bit of stuff behind the guard and still have to play with it so as it clears my headlight. But then, yes, it will be all in! Charlie's allwasy impressed in oyur car mate! ;)

Do u reakon if u get sum flexable plastic pipe and rapped it in tin foil it would make a good cold air intake system?or am i just thinking crazy like??or maybe just crazy?

Hey,
no need to wrap it in tin foil though. Unless Its going through a really hot passage way - but normally you just run the pipeing through the wheel arch and out to an opening in the front bumper.
Chris - you serious? So it should be able to withstand some pretty serious temperatures then!

boostin: is that just a hole in your head light leading to the CAI? got any closer pics of what you've done?

Hey,
yeah - the mesh cutout in the headlight goes to the cold air intake. Not muc hyou need to see, take off the headlight cover - cut a hole in it, stick some mesh behind it! I also have some piping leading to the snout of the filter from the front bumper - cold air coming from everywhere!!!

Hey,
yeah - I recomend you give it a shot - the results can be pretty good. Especially if your current setup is sucking away at that not-so-dense hot air...

Hey,
may 23rd. looking forward to it. However, I wont be giving it absolutely everything - but still hoping for mid 14's. Then we'll go back in a months time or so to give it a shot at the 13's...
