i have been to see it and after an hour of testing i have got some results..

1st, the clutch is gone and it is not driveable (old lady rides the clutch)

2nd the doors have rust in the bottom

3rd the engine is the non turbo cary and is almost dead

they think a cv joint is about to go

the ac needs a regas

there is very this surface rust and scratches in quite a few places

the rer light is broken inside the boot (after a fight with a set of gold clubs in the boot)

and finally, on the passenger side, that padded bit on the dash is peeling.

other than that it is mint as
even the spare tyre well is rust free

its an 83 aswell.
its white
original stereo
141,000km on the clock but its been wound back in 86 when it was imported
the interior is MINT

what do u guys think?
what would u guys pay? (i no there is a difference between nz and oz in pricing but i will work it out)

my parents are very negative about it but it is a very good project..

also, the rear has springs right? :D

Hey,

from what you've said, it would definatley be a project car, mainly due to non-turbs engine, depending if you want to just drop in a E15ET or rebuild engine and fit turbo yourself, i wouldn't pay more than $2000AU, only cos,
1. its not turbo - r u gonna make it EFI?
2. Its a bloody old car now - 20years
3. Lots of patch up jobs to be done.

And it also depends on your plans, if you are planning on doing a lot of DIY jobs, then you can work within a bigger budget if she doesn't like your price, cos you know it aint gonna cost you as much to do the work yourself.

But, if you are gettin a specialist\mechanics to do it all then you won't want to be spending much from the outset.

That's what i reckon anywayz :)

Hey,
shit -sounds pretty clapped out... How many months rego is left and waht are the tires like? $800 would be a fair price, but $600-$1000 is the range I would be expecting. Definately no more than $1200....

i would have to say the $2000 mark (au$$ of course) the only real problem is the engine and the paint, clutch is an easy and cheap fix, as is the cv, but if you are going turbo it will all be changed anyways.

it is all relative, depends on how common they are, how much they usually go for, and how much you are willing to pay.
there was a non turbo exa at a car yard in parra, full bashed up, sold for $2500 au. i would not have paid $10 for it.
even exa wrecks go for up around $1000 over here with flogged out motors and dodgy bodies.

1st, the clutch is gone and it is not driveable (old lady rides the clutch) **you will have to change it when you do the turbo conversion anyways**

2nd the doors have rust in the bottom
**bit of a problem, but no 83 model car will be rust free**

3rd the engine is the non turbo cary and is almost dead
**you are changing it anyways, will it last till you have the other motor?**

they think a cv joint is about to go
**sure it will hang on till the new engine comes, if not they are cheap**

the ac needs a regas
**about 250au including a retro fit, so not too bad**

there is very this surface rust and scratches in quite a few places
**also a problem**
the rer light is broken inside the boot (after a fight with a set of gold clubs in the boot)
**damn golf clubs!**
and finally, on the passenger side, that padded bit on the dash is peeling.
**you mentioned modifying the dash anyways, im sure a bit of glue you wouldnt even notice it**

well, this all goes to show how fucked up aussie car prices are..

i have worked out that the car is worth approx $NZ500 LMAO!!!

i am not getting it now, so if anyone is interested, i can give you details.. its a ery good project.

the main reason is that i need a car that will last 3 years at least with a standard engine for tech etc.
the folks have also offered to give me a bit more finance if i get a newer n13.

so thats it, i will be getting an n13 now (just gotta find one) but if i find a good n12 i will buy that too..

most of the plans i had for the n12 are transferrable to the n13.

i will be getting an 88+ exa import with 4x100 stud pattern, rear disks, and the ca16DE eng.

thanks for ur help guys

Hey,
thats a shame... Can I ask how much (in NZ$) she was asking? And all N13's have the 4x100 stud pattern dont they?

she didnt know how much it was worth, so she asked me to offer her, i would only offer $500 for it and i know she wouldnt accept that anyway.

i read in a alloy wheel brochure that it was different.. it was obviously wrong :D

i nice n13 came into work today and i may get that, its got 130,000km on the dial
