ollie: go the evo skin, looks nicer with the online frontbar, cause the online front looks smoother(compared to the js bar), as in like, its not as sharp, and has a more "rounded" shape/theme..
like banshi, he has the evo skin, with online front.. looks sweet(and he has the same skirts as you obviously) :P
the combat looks mad the the JS front, like cdoose..

they are for different applications in my opinion..
bonnet scoops are good for ventilation of hot air, depending on which scoop you get, as well as letting cool air into the engine bay, thus maknig ur engine run nicer without overheating..

cold air induction, is more for just the air intake, being that, more air for your pod/airbox to give the car a bit more power and also to make it run better..
a combination of the two is a good idea..

to put in a scoop, the bonnet needs to be cut, this can be done at home with an angle grinder, and sikflex the scoop down, done and easy..
some however, need the supports of the bonnet to be cut etc.. for example some people cut their bonnet support to make the combat vent sit in right..
also, some require blending into the bonnet wiht fibreglass and bog, for exmaple the gt4 scoop can either be just put on the botten, however looks awesome when it has been blended in..

for cost of fitting, one that just needs to be fitted, ur looking at $50-100. thats just a cut and glue job.. you would also need to either paint it, or pay someone to paint it..

jobs that include blending and stuff, cost alot more, because you will need to repsray the whole bonnet..

if let me know which scoop you are interested in.. can let ya know if it does require support cutting or blending etc..

as far as i am aware its not illegal, unless you mount it in a way where you cut your bonnet supports..

Miss Nissan: my advice, evo skin would look toy on a stock exterior exa, too flashy for it, xr6 vents maybe, its an aquired taste, i dont personally like them.. ide go for a pair of vents, i.e. cosworth vents, or newstyle vents.. perhaps that, or go a simple scoop, like WRX series 1 scoop, or maybe the roof scoop on the bonnet, combined with the evo vent above the pod..

and my dimensions were almost exact..

these are dimensions my supplier gave me, to cut the hole in the bonnet, and the size of the actual unit is only a bit bigger..

miss nissan: cosworth vents actually barely stick up out of the top of hte bonnet
its less than like 9mm probably.. almost all vents stick otu of the bonnet, e.g. wrx, combat, evo, xr6 vents..
thats the idea of hte most of the time..
the things that would sit the lowest would probably be cosworth or newstyle..

as for water going in the combat vent, yes thats an issue, water can just go into the coils and wreck them, cdoose(pete) has put a backing plate on it, where as it still has good airflow, but no water can land where the coils are..

yeah, the "evo vent" is designed for that

its just a vent to allow airflow to your pod, and will definately create more airflow, will act somewhat like a "cold air intake" that everyone does..

either that, or get a pair of vents like the cosworth, or newstyle vents..

my opinion is that an evo vent might look a bit plain on an n12, the bonnet is a bit too plain and flat..
something like the cosworth vents would look good though, maybe the newstyle vents too..

The amount of water you would get in the bay when its raining (while driving ) would be minimal and really unless you had your air filter directly underneath the opening, then it shouldnt affect your motor.
Heres an excercise - Go outside and pop you're bonnet, now hose the engine for a few minutes, then try and start it. (Bet it will start and run fine)

I'd say it'd effect it a shitload if your stuck out in a torrential downpour and there's several liters of water bucketing down on the hot block i'd say it'd do a thing or two!

guy (exa18) his purple exa in the exaclub home logo.. has bonnet cut outs and when it pissed down rain or he washed his car.. water would get into the spark plug wells and get wet and cause it to miss fire and all sorts of stuff.. his conclusion was to pop-rivet a piece of metal on an angle onthe under neath side of the bonnet to protect the engine...
