Hey,
wit hold motor and t2 - everything and anything off the lights, including WRX's, Skylines, GenIII Commo's etc. But it was only at 2nd gear I'd be watching a huge beast chasing me down. Now I take off about as hard as most other hotties (Harder once anti-lag launch controll is finally sorted) and can drive away through all gears. Just have to keep my revs up nice and high...

Hey.

I had same problem, back with my 12A turbo(in EXA) i could beat most stuff off the jump, but bout third gear i get beat down:hitwall:

My most even run was up against a highly worked TX3 laser, i seem to either crap all over the other car or get whooped, but its fun either way!

Can't wait to get microtech in with T28 tho! show sum cars that i can have a top end too you know!! :p

And sam, jap motorsport is pretty cool but only if you own a skyline or a silvia:wavetongu , and yes, they are assholes. I looked at the other place you found hikari performance, they are right in the middle of town, gilbert street is bout 5mins from my shop. I'd be happy to take ya to Jap moto sport cos its worth a look at least!

We'll have to check it out when you come over :D

hey sam, if your coming here then check out autobarne at mile end, theuy arent the average autobarne you would have there because this one took over the products that status motorsports used to sell, now they have the other goodies like bodykits and sometimes some nice second hand stuff.

also visit pulsar parts, theres a few car shops next door to them you might be able to pick up something for the car.

i once had a tough time against an old celcia!
But i've had lots of fairly decent kills
no rexes like sam though.
once beat some kind of HSV, well he had abit of a traction problem

recently on the way home, i lined up with another HSV of somesort, in my rx-7. Lights green and i smoked through to third gear, he smoked up until second gear and he was off! Next set of lights a "poor man's" porsche pulls up. Three way battle, again wheelspin till third gear, hoden again spins through second, porsche perfect take off and killed me by 2 lengths, and the commo by a length. Of course my rx-7 had a replacement tyre which measures about 3-4 inches wide, compared to the other rear which had 225 rubber on it!

ok, update on my racing

I chased billy in his pulsar Gti-R down adelaide's most notorious road(devil's elbow) on the EXA cruise and kept up!!! that's my new crowning achievement.
I can't remember bout his mods, but sam knows, he was pretty decked out suspension wise.

And beat some scorpion which had apparently been - quote from a drunk marchoos :p "worked off its tits"

But cruise was fun, got a taste of the top end of my T28, need more boost though!!!

he's got filter, exhaust, koni shocks and flat out sway bars. Think thats it. In fairness to him, he was leading and that does make it harder to go fast - but damn dan, that N12 was on the edge!!!

hehe yeah, he did have it a bit hard, he was prolly still a bit "off his chops" :p and leading is hard enough let alone down devil's elbow (for his - and my, first time)

haha - you'd eat me down devils elbow for heaps of reasons: 1. My motor has been built for top end power (Ie drag) so I'd be slower out of all the corners than you. 2. I cant drive around twisties for shit. 3. My car doesnt like going around twisties either. and Im sure there is a hell of a lot more... lol - so I'll jus give ou the trophy now beforte I end up over the edge of devils elbow!!!

i wasnt giving its all on the straights. didnt go any faster than 80 k's. on the corners i was gion fukkin crazy though

Yeh, its all good, lots of fun, the only difference i'm gonna have at easter is my wheels will aligned:p so i can take the right handers quicker, but apart from that, i feel a thorough beating coming on :moonsmili

And on another racing note - last night a hottie in a 180 with plates "One8T" went fyling past me on my way home, so naturally i gave chase :heehee: she wound down her window and said there was a cruise at moana, so we raced down the southern expressway and i took my car to 200km/h at least, her speedo didn't work :hitwall: but then we got caught up in an Rx7 cruise and she lost me, when i got to the cruise it was all skylines inculding one godzilla, silvias and 180sx's, and the Rx7s. and ME in my EXA, i dragged one of the rx7s but i got massive wheel spin and so he beat me :( I was meant to be going home but i ended up taking a 1.5hour detour lol.

And then!!! just to top off my night, an 85 N12 with a little wrx wing went buzzing past as i was gonna turn down my gf street, a quick u-turn and i was hunting him down, and am i glad i did, it was the guy with the kameleon EXA!!! :eek: after a quick race(and me winning), he pulled over for me to have a look, turns out he's moved to adelaide and is sellin it and at the moment asking $8500. The engine is stock but only done 30,000 since rebuild but his turbo is only T2 and blowing smoke, i got his number so if anyone is interested or wants more info PM me!! i'm goin to take some fotos and i'll post em soon!!

diggin up an old topic, but hey, my exa is in a coma now, so i may as well give u tha low-down on how it WAS just before it shat itself..

sam gave it a bit of a tune and tweak with his microtech handset and i wound the boost up to 14psi, we est. 115kw(was 90kw at 11psi with shitty tune..) atw now:D

Then pulled up against a 5l statesman, time to test out tha power:heehee: - dragged him off turnin right at the lights and i pulled ahead by a cars length once second gear hit boost and by third was still gettin away, woohoo!! but due to the fact that he got shitty and turned down a road,and i have only 1 demerit point, the drag ended pretty quick, but he took a beatin, and he sure didn't like it!! sam was staring across blankly at both him and his woman the whole time we were racing lol

On the cruise yesterday i blew somethin in my engine and so she's sittin at a caltex servo for a few days till i can get a tow and get it diagnosed and fixed...

so yeh, there's my racing update, n e one else smoke got some boast stories... :chuckle:

well my N12 has a few problems but ive got T-28, front mount cooler, POD filter but far as i know am only running standard boost

however when she is running well my baby flies

beat some red N 13 with exa club stickers on it in ferntree gully that wasnt to hard

beat a VS commodore the other day he got a better start but then we were side by side and by the time we hit 100 i was saying goodbye

also was driving down a road near my place when a V8 VK came flying up behind me i dropped into 3rd and spooled up and we were going side by side into and out of an s bend and then the road went into one lane by that time i was almost at red line in 3rd but had edged in front and was doin bout 130-140 so i was happy with that effort

just an up date on Dans car... Is all good agian after they found a ball of weld that had been sucked in from the cooler (which was fucking up the plug in cylinder number 4) and therefore not firing properly - the car is bak going hard again and beating the shit out of 5l Statesmans... MY tune did not kill it!!!! Well, it did kill the statesman I guess!

Oh, and yeah - I was mainly starting at the guys' girlfriend, but she didnt get a blank look - only a gave a blank look whn the guy looked at me. Shit it was good! :heehee:

it would appear that more weld shit has been sucked in, so its back at ATS gettin it pulled out... but it has confirmed it as the problem as now it has opened a hole somewhere in the lines and it won't idle properly and as i was putting along the road to the mechanics i could hear it whistle...:rolleyes: But apart from something rooting sam's microtech handset:hitwall: his tune has done wonders(sounds weird i know) but it has. good stuff mate!

So yeah, not quite fixed but not rooted either, updates to come.

and he was loving it... Why take it back to ATS? Just pull hte plug out and turn the motor over to blow the shit out. Get the hole welded and your done. If you cant find the hole - check out the post I jus made in hte ExAdelaide thread....

raced an r33 gtst skyline tonight, had an exhaust, and according to his mate is running more boost.
raced from 60km/h to about 190, started even, and held a bit over a car length on him the whole way, sloooowwwly creeping away from him.
then raced out of a roundabout, after miles of lag i dipped the clutch, only to end up pretty close to rev limit in 2nd with copius wheel spin, and absolutely trashed him, got about 2 lengths on him b4 the lanes merged.

to some this may be no great feat, but i still havent had the car tuned since the reco, havent put my cam etc in yet, and reading up the skylines do a 14.3 stock, and trust me, he was fair into it.
all he saw was the :moonsmili of my car ;)
im pretty happy cause this pretty much guarantees my car is in the low 14's with street tyres (i beat a sr20det 180 about a month ago 14.4sec quarter stock), and hopefully flat 14's to high 13's with my slicks.

sorry, i had to brag to someone, my gf just says "yeh thats great" and all my mates are in bed asleep!
