Tonight SilvEXA come around and we removed the plugs, I wanted to find out what was in the car since I have never checked them since we bought it.
Anyhow, they are NGK brand, and I think the code was BPR6A or BPR6E, the design of hte plug was a single electrode that comes to a point with the typical bent post design, but the post had what appeared to be a inner lip (possible a grouve), I believe the platnum plug are the better ones to use and I also hear the duel spark design ones are better again, but... are the ones I describe the platnum design. ?
The condition of the plugs was nimor carbon, grey/white carbon deposits, no oil (thank god).
Compression was Pot 1 -> 4 #1-200psi #2-150psi #3-150psi #4-200psi
If someone has a digital camera and a platnum plug availble for making a pic, can you post it so I can see it.

Compression results seem a little odd with 25% difference on the inner two cylinders. But I haven't posted to really comment on those :)
I've heard the dual spark plugs are actually not so great on our engines.... as it puts the spark off-centre (our spark plugs sit in the dead top centre of the cylinder, rather than in the side, like in an N13 Pulsar engine).
The standard recommended platinum plugs are NGK's PFR6A-11 which I have been running on my engine for a while. The ones you describe sound like standard NGK plugs, which are still okay, but there platinum's make a great big difference (like 5 - 15% more power and 50km more per tank... least with my car & driving).

Well oil shouldn't be leaking into the combustion chamber, if it is its a sign of bad oil rings or a bad seal around the valves.
If there is a low level of oil entering the combustion chamber the detination of the fuel should be enough to cook the oil off, if the level of oil is too high its a sign something is going wrong, (sounds like time for you to do a compression test).
Also at htat level you should notice blue smoke comming out of the exaust.
If it oil rings you will get blue smoke when you rev the engine and also when holding the revs high (like 2k or 3k), if it blows smoke when you rev the engine then back of and rev it again then it's more likly your valve stem seals not holding up.
Oil around the spark plug thread is not much to be alarmed about, I am talking about oil around the electrode.

HOw do u do a compression test?
skozzy are u still interested in taking one of our cars for a drive??

If you have found some oil on the spark plug tip, only worry if this is after the car has been sitting there for less than a day. I didn't run my engine for 6 weeks or more (ACK!) and removed the plugs and checked everything over before starting. One of my plugs almost had a drop of oil formed on the end, and was completely covered, but my car doesn't blow smoke either on startup or high rpm even 10,000k's later. So unless you let the car cool down and then find the oil, don't panic. Once the valve seal goes u'll basically know about it as u'll have a shitload of smoke pouring through one of your valves and it'll all come out of the exhaust - yet the car will still run fairly okay, maybe a little unbalanced.

A compression test is done with a compression test gauge, if you want to check your then come around, then maybe we can go for a test run in your monster and compair our 2 cars drivability/performance etc..

Those plugs u describesd sound like platinum to me if instead of being flat the centre is to a point and the electrode has a little lump or v then there platinum
also the multi electrode plugs u can get are a gimik as far as im concerned cause the plug can only fire one spark at a time and not four
if u dont belive me get a plug with four electrodes hook it up to a plug lead and get someone to crank the car over :)
also the compression test i take it that was a dry test try addin a few squirts of oil in each cylinder and retesting it if they come up a bit in psi chances are your rings are a bit worn although anything above 150 is pretty good i wouldnt be too worried
should maybe carry out a cylinder leak down test to to eliminate burned valves etc
