I have looked all around for an exa body, and none of the companies I have checked have any. I think TTrix is right, you'll have to make it yourself.

b00st...
whats the model number on your gas rc???
as i would have to go down to the hobby shop and by one then make a "buck" out of it then make li'l pulsar/exa's...but it would only fit the gas rc cars...thats what your thinking, right?
if you are then i'll look in to the price of a shell closest to the exa/pulsar design and then go from there...
but i wont have any time till possible next weekend(26'ish)-o/k?
if there is enough people interested it would definatly be in my interest...we ok...let me look into it and i am sure i could make one for ya-hehe and of course for my self-hehe

hope your only going to use the firberglass shell as a static display and not drive with it. You hit anything at a decent speed with the fiberglass and it will just shatter or crack. Thats why they use lexen it has a decent amount of flex before its snaps.
what brand R/C you got b00st. I have a petrol powered one with skyline r34 shell.

i got the tamiya tg10-mk1 petrol powered awd subaru WRX wrc...
ttrix... if u do decide to make a couple.. i would by prolly 3 or 4 shells if u wanted to make some.. so i have a few spares etc.. :)
if u want any more details let me know...
kylie.. tell ya mate ill pay him a decent amount of $$$ to make it...
just tell him exas rock :) and ill be his mate for ever..
even if someone makes a fibre glass one ill by 2 or 3 of them :)

hey guys i've got a methanol powered r/c car too!! and i am heaps keen for an exa body! mine is a kyosho super 10, centre shaft driven, 4wd, A-arm double wishbone/ four wheel independant suspension and oil filled shocks (thats what the box says lol) i have 2 bodies, the castrol toyota supra and the mercedes benz CLK GTR as seen at Lemans 24hr. to give u an idea, the supra body's dimentions are:
Legnth: 510mm
width: 230mm
height: 145mm
wheel base: 280mm
track (F): 184mm
track (R): 178mm
ground clearance: 10mm
so if an exa shell could be fabed up to fit that then i would have my hand up 4 sure!!! i would be the coolest dude ever if i had a remote controll car that matched my own! ok cheers man do some investingating and let me know what happens, cya,

if i make a "buck"(as in something to copy a mould) then i could make the shell out of anything...ie. poly eurathane or ???, something more durable then fiberglass as oxyg3n said fiberglass will be more likely to explode-hehe- if you hit anything at speed-hehe
pieces would go everywhere and would just shatter...i wasnt sure if you guys were thinking of running these shells or just for looks...well i'll definatly look into it.
i checked yesterday and could not find any shell to copy...hasegawa, tamiya, revell etc...
i know i found one a few years back but it was the vw golf looking one(gtr-awd) but i cannot find it now-oh well.
so now i'll definatly have to make one...had a couple of thoughts to making the buck but i'll have to shape everything in ie. t-roof lines etc...
now would people prefer a body kit on it or stock ???
T
just let me get a couple of these cars out of my shop and then i can spend a night getting drunk(which doesnt happen very often-hehe) and see what i can come up with!

hey exa ace, if i want mine rwd i just pop out the drive shaft to the front wheels then it works exactly the same as yours would! then for straight line grip and circut racing pop the shaft back in! (by the way peeps its not as easy as "popping it in and out" to move it u have to rebuild the frount end, but i've done it that many times now it only takes bout 10 minutes) and my car pretty much sits on the ground too, i dunno how it makes it round the track sometimes but she usually doesnt scrape. i got the ground clearance figure off the box. ok please make an exa body up, i'd get one for show (fiberglass of whatever) and another for racing (something that wont shatter!!). cheers guys,

Hey,
hehe - I am the RC guru... I was Geelong Electric modifies Champion 3 years running. And before you laugh at the battery powered cars, mine was clocked at 94kmh by a nearby cop with a speed gun!!! Full carbon fibre chassis, every piece of metal was titanium, 3 lsd's etc. It was a beast, I spent waaaaayyyyy too much money on it and decided to sell it when it was time to purchase a real car (my n12!) Had variuos shell's, but my fav was my '97 Chevy Silverado ute. all m shells were painted by myself and I take great pride in there apperance. You cant make shells out of lexcan (that I know of) as its a pretty specialised plastic isnt it? If anyone wants a shell painted - let me know... I love doing them, it will take me a few weeks though...

Hey,
hehe - Im not talented in any way what so ever - Im just patient with them and take great pride in my work! you do know how to paint polycarbonate properly right? You have to paint it from the inside out with a special polycarbonate paint that actually etches into the pastic so the shell can flex without the paint peeling off. (Allthough, a couple of crashes at teh end of the staright - 90+kmh still managed to chip some paint off!!!) But becasue you paint it insode out - you must do the things backwards in order - Ie your background colour goes last and your door handles are painted first etc...) and also, cos the paint etches into the bodyshell - once its on - its on. A mistake and its all over... Hence why I take great care! I use the best quality masknig tape I can find and make sure all edges are seled down nicely - so oyu get really crisp lines - and no paint comming onto your winscreen or otherplaces its not meant to be... I'd love to do another shell for you, if you've got he time to have me piss farting around wiht a shell for a couple of week (and pre-pared to cover my cost's - not profit, just for paint, tape etc.) I'll do you a shell or 2 in any design you want! you should have seen how nice the fade was from the metailc blue to the metalic green on the "Sprite" chev. Magical!!! Plus those scale 20 inch chrome tri-spokes just suited her like a charm!

Hey,
sorry you must have posted while I was typing the previuos post... Um, well your bodyshell is usually around $40. Paint $14 a can (4 on the sprite Chev Blue, green, white, yellow) and about $10 worth of tape. So roughly $100 including the price of the shell itself. Its worth it in the end you you take off all thje masking tape and sit it on the chassis....

i dont mind paying u extra as a profit.. and i dont mind how long it takes..
i love the paint job on that sprite ute..
and where do u get big wheels from???
i cant find a big set anywhere :/....
ill look into a shell that i like.. :)
o yea.. i dont have the patentiets to get into small details like the door handles..
and yea.. i ever new how to paint properly :P thats prolly why my paint kept chipping off :/

Hey,
yeah - plus painting it on the inside gives the paint really good depth and an awesom shine as its got a big thikc layer of clear on it (the shell itself) Make sit look 500% better than the frosted colour you get on hte outside of the shell... Well, let me know what you want to do and I'll let you know if its possibly + plus how much it'll cost me. You can get different rims from any hobby shop that has rc gear scale 20 inch rims are actaully only 2inch's big (1/10th scale) and that is a pretty common size. your gas car may even have larger on it! Buy an Australian r/c car mag, have a flick through - till you see a shell you like and call a couple of shops form within the mag to see if they carry/can get that shell. COD it or post it to my joint and I'll start painting. I'll send the finished product up to you (in a shyte load of bubble wrap/ foam balls!!!!!) and your done. I allways like "Protoform" brand body shells as they seem to be of a really high quality... check em out ...
Sam
This is there "sample" paint scheme of my shell. Good job, but shit colours...

20th April 2009, 11:58 AM
ive had similar things happen with my tmaxx and nitro tc3.. wat you will need to do is take your air filter off glow plug out. and flush out with wd40 or innox.
the alcohol in the fuel attracts moisture. this should work but if not youll have to rebuild you engine and make sure none of the parts have been corroded. (a rebuild would be the best bet check the coditon of you bearings piston and sleve and clutch shoes
do you use an after run oil??
if you dont get some auto tranny fluid.
then wen you done with your car burn all the fuel out. then take you air filter off and take the glow plug out and put a few drops of tranny fluid in. dont use wd40 as an after run oil as it will dry you seals out and destroy you motor in time. its ok wen you need to clean the internals of you motor or have left it sitting for a long time with fuel in it as you motor will have moisture in it and you need to dry it out.
this will be the problem 90% of the time

i got an origanal ball diff in mine i jus did it up tight and i have a front 1 way. and i lyk to have a chirpy motor i lyk the novak brushless motors they dont need much maintainnce and they have good touque and lots of power. but fialing that a good 16x3 i use a gm doctor speed or a decent 27 turn stock motor is good for plastic tires.
i used to love drifing the rc race track that was in coffs pitty its all finished up no 1 is really interested
