Have seen this on NS.com (nissansilvia.com) and thought we should have a similar section...

Basically it is a section just for Instructions/install guides for common problems, rather than sticky-ing every relevant thread in the technical section...

I have been fixing a few things on my car that I beleive to be fairly helpful, and i have taken photos along the way, if we had this section i could post it in the N13 technical section and then at the bottom write "submit for technical article" and a mod could move it to the technical articles. From then on if a thread is submitted 'how do i do this?' they could be refered to the technical article rather than someone go through how to do it step by step, which gets tiring if it pops up every few weeks/months!!

^^^^ is what is on nissansilvia.com, very handy idea! ^^^^
(paste into address bar and remove spaces)

Should be simple to set up, and saves alot of people, alot of time.. and makes it easier for people who are new to the site (rather than telling them to just search, and then them say they can't find anything...)

Just an idea :D

Agree 100%

i made this point in one of my (possibly quite intoxicated replys)

That we should have a problems thread for the certain car range, then subsections for intake, battery water pump, etc etc

that way ppl can put down their problem (if new) 'n' lettus know wtf's goin on, also it would be good for a 'expected repairs' which is dwon to how old the car is 'n' how many km's it's done.

if only the sight with thousands of members could be that organized it would take alot of time exa's can have thousands of problems and like every car thousands of symptoms for those same problems
the best bet would be to do it how it has been done yet tell more people to search through thread history instead of bringing up topics already covered thousands of times

Impacter: that would take alot of work in gettin it organised, and unfortunately i don't see that happening

I'm just suggestin a simple technical articles section (maybe one in each section, N12, N13, B13 ) where we simply post in the tech section and it gets moved by a mod to the tech articles section... would be simple and time saving for noobs and veteran members too....

I realise this, but people still dont see them....

plus if you have too many stickies it'll just be ridiculous..

I've been doing a few bits and peices to my car, and have taken pics the whole way through, and am lookin at doing a writeup for them, but if i submit them in the n13 tech section, after a few weeks they will be way down the list and won't be easy to find... main reason is no one searches, even if we tell them! this would just be an easy way to have step by step guides in the one place, easy to find, and no discussion to get in the way/cause arguments (obviously if an error is spotted then they would need to be edited, but keeping the crap out of the threads would make it easy to follow...)

Exactly... so what's saying that they are going to 'see' the other forum inside each Techincal forum?

We have a 'search' fuction for this exact reason... and whats to say in a few months time when there is more than one page of 'techincal articles' that people are going to 'search' those when they dont even bother to search NOW?
