Hey,
go for whatever unit your local (or favourite) speed shop is most comfortable with as unless your installing and tuning it yourself, its best to get one that they have the most confidence in. Microtech, Wolf, EMS and Haltech are all good. Many, many options on the market these days, and most are all good enough that there isnt really any dont's, just do's!

regardless of which brand ecu you buy, dont skimp on tuning.
a dodgy tune can mean alot of lost power, and could cause alot of damage to your engine.

i have ems, and i have mates with haltech and microtech.
to be honest i think they are pretty much all up to par, some have more features than others, eg haltech has more map tuning points than ems and microtech, however it is also alot dearer and on a street driven car the differece would hardly be noticable.

i assume it has to be in the car to be tuned? and i'll probally install it with the help of the auto sparkie at work or else get it done... i'm gonna have a go at doing as much myself

Hey,
well my point still stands - ask who your going to get it tuned by what type of ecu they recomend.
