Hey guys,
I'm going to be an Australian reseller for Dakota Digital gauges (http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=results/Category_ID=70/home_id=59/mode=cat/cat70.htm), i am wondering if any of you would like to get in on the initial order for any of the gauges you find on their website. I have checked the prices of most of the other Australian resellers and they are around the $160 mark for most of the 'normal' gauges. I will be able to do them cheaper than this to you guys!
And if you want to get in on the initial order i will offer a further 10% off!
PM me for pricing or post here (just try to keep this thread clean). As people ask for prices on different gauges i'll post up the prices in here.
I suggest the Odyssey Solarix Series or Odyssey Series II ones.
Regards,
Devs.
P.S. I believe these are just as accurate, than the new 'stepper motor' gauges done by Defi, HKS, Apexi, Trust Greddy & the cheaper Auto meter ones.

P.S. Remember these are just as accurate if not better, than the new 'stepper motor' gauges done by Defi, HKS, Apexi, Trust Greddy & the cheaper Auto meter ones.
That is a very powerful statement.
Do you have evidence of this?

Changed it so it doesn't come across so strongly! It's my personal belief!
Stepper motor gauges are said to be 99% accurate due to being an electronic gauge with an analogue interface via a 'stepper motor' that works at some crazy rate... cant remember off the top of my head.
Digital gauges have no moving parts and only need to change a 'digital' display.
I'll be honest and give you the downside to digital over analogue even though it most likely wont relate to anything we would use them for.
When you use a digital gauge for something that has a fast changing rate you wont be able to easily read it while it's changing.

would love boost/vac and intake air temp. Not sure on which style of gauge yet. Whats the actual difference between solarix and odyssey series II?
cheers

How much for a high pressure boost gauge with sensor?
(the housing isn't important, cos I want to strip it :))

F*&^ i just wrote a massive reply the hit the wrong key :-(
Jacob: Pretty sure it's just the colour/intensity of the display.
Joe: I sent you a PM. I got in contact with all Dakota's listed dealers in Australia, non of them had much stock of the Solarix and series 2 gagues. All were pretty expensive and not interested in trade accounts, so i went straight to Dakota!
Clown: What do you want a high pressure one for? To make use of it you'll need the high pressure sensor which is a very expensive combination. The normal ones read up to 30psi anyway!

The 30psi versions do vac/boost, the high pressure ones only do boost.

So u dont want to know the vac? The gauges themselves are the same price! Around $150-160

Don't need it.
When the motor is running on vacuum its running much as a DE, and I have never in my years of DE driving wanted for a vac gauge.
The other reason, is I've watched a few video's of vac/boost digital gauges, and as they only use a - symbol to differentiate between vac and boost it makes slighty harder to read than having a dial gauge where the needle is 1.5 inches away from the boost part of the scale.
The gauges themselves are the same price! Around $150-160But can you use the high boost gauge with a vac/boost (ie low boost) sensor to make it only display boost?

Yes that's correct.
That's a fair comment about vac/boost. But i dont think it would be harder to read, as you'd know when your on the throttle or not!
Personally i like to have a VAC gauge as it shows how your motor is running. Helps to show if it's got a vac leak as well!

Hey, forgot about this thread.
I've just made a $5k order for some stepper motor gauges. After they get here and see how they sell i'll be making an order of these digital gauges.
I will close this thread until that time!
