cutting or clamping springs is never recommended. Look into having them heat treated so they sit lower. I'm no expert but i think they heat them up to a certain temp, compress them, cool them, then release the pressure and they retain some of their compression, hence sit lower. Talk to a suspension specialist though to get a decent, confident explanation.

just get a set of king springs or sumthin simmiliar rather then rooting a good set of springs

yeah dont go stuffing round with normal springs, lowering springs arent that expensive, just buy some and get it fitted i beleive most cars can be done for like 299 at a suspension place...

me and 1 of my mates lowered my car and it only took us about an hour and when we were finished my n13 on its guts, u dont need any special tools either, just socket set a few spanners (cant remember what size), schrewdiver and a shifter, i paid 250 for all 4 springs off autobarn

and u should have spring compressors so that the damn spring dont flick u in the head. my spring near hit my damn car when it released and aa washer went flying, lucky i had spares...

king springs are the way to go, but i think its cheaper for option a, get the standard springs re-set....

i have cut springs in my old hyundai excel, and it was sick though. and in my n12, but only in the rears in the n12.... but trust me, its a harsh ride if u cut them.

Commodore - maybe... B13 NX - NO.

The suspension travel on the NX is very short to begin with, and cutting the springs means the shorter and softer spring will have you hitting the bump stops all day long, which is okay in a straight line.. but braking on a bumpy road, or hitting a bump mid corner and you can kiss goodbye to traction.

If you get KING lows from a wholesaler you shouldnt pay more than 120 a pair.
KDFL01 fronts and KDRL50SL rear.

Dont cheap out on important things like suspension, especially when you are willing to spend the money on less critical things like airbrushing.

I'm gettin a full setup done shortly (shocks are faaaarked) will just be new shocks 'n' springs, gotto decide whether i'm using the 15" wheels i got now or get some 17's before it gets dumped.

I'll throw out the listing prices installation cost etc etc

Won't be Coilovers unfortunatly as i'm not forkin out next to $2K, watch this space...

I'm gettin a full setup done shortly. .. it gets dumped.Just remember, stock suspension travel on a B13 is only 3 inches.
So if you want to really dump it, you're gonna need shortened shocks.

Nah not chasing speedhump killa's, only really doing the suspention cos it's utterly shart it'self 'n' makes odd grinding noises when you take hard lefts.

I'd be happy with just an inch drop really, i do still like my car to be semi practical *looks @ fuel consumption rate with bigger cams.....hmmmmm*

i dont have shortened shock and my nx is a speedhump killa...... lowest car ive had.. all it has is a set of king springs under but it has new struts which wont take long for the lack of travel to fuck

when i got my nx-r bak in the days the guy who owned it before me cut the springs and he cut them from the bottom and every time u would jack the car up the spring would fall out of its cup

so i went and bough kingsprings (lowered) for 200 bucks and fitted them but you have to note that the rear end will sit higher than the front end because king spring is fucked in the head i told them about it and they sent me another pair for the rear where they can be re sized down to the right height but i never got to do it

u can g to K-mac and they will make ur springs for u at the height u want better option if u dont wanna go through hassles

u must have put them in the wrong way round... the taller of the two sets is for the front cos of the weight of your engine??????
