I have just brought a 1984 exa coupe and when i first took it for a drive, it felt like the clutch slipped a little. the guy i brought it from said its normal for the exa's. true or false??

false...
no clutch should slip in these cars... get a new one whenever u can, or it may just need adjusting seeing as its cable clutch....
any mods at all? if its standard, and u cant get it to adjust right, then shes definately in for a new clutch...

It's not normal for any car to have the clutch slip. Is the clutch cable? If so then maybe it needs adjusting cause it isn't disengaging properly, more than likely though it will need a new clutch.
Also in future, any questions like this need to be posted in the N12 tech section cause you have an N12.
And welcome to the club :D

if the clutch is slipping, thats not normal. You prob need a new clutch.

can't belive some one told you the clutch slipping in the Exa was normal. I would of kicked that Exa owner in the head
