i have taken mine apart many times...
installing blue bulbs ect .. i just about adjusted ( wound back ) the odometer... but i thought .. nah.. better not :mafia:

There are no seals from what i can see ..
(outer case)3 screws up top, 3 at teh bottom ... and after that
(dash itself) 2 screws at the top.. 2 at the bottom ...

when u get it out... teh clear plastic cover just unclips... :help:

it really is stupid to wind back the odometer. why bother,
service history, pink slips and rta computers can all detect this, and you will get fined for it.

dont undo the cable, becuase when u are reving high, transmission fluid will quirt out from the opening..

winding it back gives tha car a little more value..
u can successfully wind it back..
as long as it is at least 1km past what it was when u bought it..
and make sure that u have never had it serviced,
or make sure no-one has a record of the odometer reading..
as said b4..
it is highly NOT recommended

do u realise that the odometer reading is recorded each time u get the vehicle registered your best be would be to buy a low km import engine and then wind it back and get the car blue slipped eiter that or say u had a fire inside the car and the dash got destroyed :) ddunno how that would go tho

ok... there is a little 'cog' wheel what ever u want to call it.
basically slip this out. (it is un-noticable unless someone drives your car and goes "hey ur odo aint working".

Very now and again pop it back in... maybe when ur going on a longish trip just to keep ur Odo readings looking normal ;)

if a man wants to modify his car it is not prohibited
as long as it is his car
the legalities come in only when he may sell the car
in this case the car is sold as "as is condition"
the seller makes no promises or stipulates to any assurances
now i appreciate input on any given subject ..
but you guys got some wires crossed..

i'm not one to dis people.....BUT......you're very wrong - what you are talking about is illegal - unless of course you are not driving on public roads

also morally - would you like to buy a car that shows 150000km when it's really done 250000km ? i think not

safe driving

mmm Pulsar Boy... DOOD we're in OZ so it might be a little different, but over here it's illegal...

You cant even sell your car unless u get your imobaliser fitter by a professional... i fitted mine maself! :-( but then again i cheated tha system :eyelids:
