not my cup of tea with the white
u going to get adjustable timing gears? would work wonders
and the otehr thing is why you used the n/a rocker covers?or what looks like them, as the turbo ones have better filtration properties
but nice dude

the whole motor and block is painted white. the reason we painted it white is so we can see any oil leaks if there are any. we r using non turbo cam covers sause those r the ones we first had spare and we got a new air oil seperator so it doesn't really matter what cam covers we use.
Adjusable timing gears will be done with the cams. i want to do the suspension and brakes next. then cams and turbo. throw a respray in their somewhere.
Power figures???Don't know really. Bens hoping for something stupid. 12's r a time we r lookin 4. 300hp at the crank maybe? dont really know till we run it. Should now by september. Motor goes in wednesday

man it is fully sik
has all hks and jun internals and it will run i the fwd top ten and maybe even the rwd top ten too
it has cost over 1 million dollars so far and it will be going into a carbon fibre n13 replica
it weighs 32 kg and is da bom

nah seriously
i built chris luus et that has run 12.5 at 114mph
like his motor it is mega budget
has cast acl pistons and hopefully with some careful tuning should be able to support 20 psi all the time
if it stays together i will be happy and hopefully will be a tough little package
have no ideas on power as chriss never makes good numbers on the dyno but always runs int he 12s on the drag strip
hopefully the bigger capacity will make up for the added weight of the n13

see what happens hey?
thats the way it should be rather then the big noting and taunting that too often goes on.

ben

:D I wrote some software a while back to help me get rough estimates on hp. With a CA18DET pushing 20psi you would get around 295hp at the crank. Not bad at all. To take the estimate a step further: The average car loses about 1.17% of it's hp from crank to wheel. So... my guess is 252hp at the wheels and 295hp at the crank. I'll put my software out on the site when I finish it. It does a lil more than just tell you hp. It also will help you pick the perfect turbo and I mean perfect.

Cool, but is dat wit only a standard displacment. i.e. 1798cc, cause mine getin toward 1860cc which apparently is a significant difference. Plus the bottom end is balanced and the head is midly ported. I still don't get how a computer program cancluclate power??? I'd assume power output would b relative to the engine specifically, or does the computer assume perfect condition. i.e. perfectly running motor?

Well actualy the stock disp on a ca18 is 1809 but I get what your saying. If you've been bored it would have a slight affect on how your engine performs. This software was written to calculate boost -> HP per engine. Now, displacement really becomes a factor when choosing a good turbo.

Okay so wit mah 1860cc what turbo would be ideal, according for the software. I've always got the idea that T3 turbo which as big as possible internals. To a degree of course. But sort of bigger is better. What does the software say. or haven't u got that workin yet? If i didn't say already i'm usin a T3 mildly hifloed

Hey man, good to see it's finally getting there man!
Cant wait to see it out at willowbank pulling some decent times man.

One question, what is that turbo off man, it's not a stocko T25 obviously, but what is it?

it a T3 of a VL calais. Recently rebuilt and hifloed. not sure how much so i'll say just midly hifloed. Should be good 4 about 300hp we think. The turbo that is
