i just bought a Garrett T2 Hi-flow with T25 internals yesterday for a very reasonable price. The N12's come out with a stock T2-Air research and 7psi factory boost. People would be thinking that it's usually a waste of time but ask any turbo place and they'd tell you that sticking with an original size turbo is the better way to go in looking after your engine wise. I have been for a ride in an ET which previously had my turbo and it was a huge difference than the stock T2. What i want to know is does anyone have their T2 turbo Hi-flowed at all, and how much of an improvement did they see?

I wouldnt bother spending the money on that jurrasic piece of junk. If you want to keep the engine relatively std, then by all means, if you are chasing big power, then at least a proper t25 is a must, if not t28 or some ball bearing variant.

i agree that the t2/25 hybrid is a bit of a waste of time, however if you got it at the right price then its worth it. It is a huge step up from the crappy t2.

i had a mate with an exa, same mods as mine, he put a t2/25 hybrid on, paid a mint for it too, like $1250 to be built.
he thought it was the shit, and ragged on me for putting a t25 on.
his car went alot better, not much more lag than standard but good up to response, still ran out of puff at around 5500rpm.
with my t25, a bit more lag, but it holds sweet all the way to red line.
his car had me off the mark, but as soon as i got on boost mine destroyed his.

if you had the choice of buying the two i would definitely pick the t25 but if the cost of the hybrid is right, then it is a good step forward.

if i was selecting a turbo again, i would go straight to t28, i think the t25 is overrated, and for a mildly mod' motor a t28 is a must.
