I've looked at getting harnesses for my exa before. The best place to bolt the end in is in the parcel shelf at the back. I don't have any board there or anything and i have two holes already there. I'm pretty sure you have to get a metal bracket made up, welded on there or something and have the right size holes drilled out with a thread. Don't quote me on that of course. But please remember that harbesses are illegal. You have to be at least wearing your normal factory seatbelt underneath. If your only wearing your harness and that screw at the back decideds to pop out during an accident, we can expect a premiere of a new movie called "head goes through windscreen." If you're really interested in harnesses though i will get you a number from my work. These guys will beable to mount it professionally for you and yes they are somewhere around Adelaide.

As for your sub and speakers... the speakers can be mounted in the back, on the side panels between your front and back seat. For example...

This is a dodgy job. The person who owned the car before me must've done this and i would have preferred a set of 6" speakers rather than 6x9's purely for the fact that i'd be running subs. For the subwoofer you can get away with your standard box or you can go custom. But you gotta spend that little extra money to get the most out of it and for better sound!

thanks, a number would be good. does any one have pics of their boot with sub(s) in it and where they mounted it? the only reason i wanted harnesses is because i have a b pillar rollcage and it screwed upthe seatbelts. i may jjust remove it and replace the belts? any one know about power steering for an 83 exa and how much? ima big guy but i have a $3000 peddars suspension job that makes it handle like a dream but you have to fight the wheel and torque steers a real bitch!:hitwall: where have you guys mounted a 5inch monster tach with shift light? theres not exactly much room on the dash. and has any one ec\xperienced the pain in the ass rattling when you crank the stereo? its in the doors and panels. cheers guys. ben

we have touched on the power steering issue not long ago, it wasnt released in oz, is almost impossible to get from japan, and therefore cant be fitted.
torque steer is one of the major hassles with exas, especially when you get the horsepower to a respectable figure.

that is my subs in, 2 x 15inch subs (i do have a pic of the box covered somewhere), not much boost space. and yes my whole car rattled to the shithouse.
i put silicon under the framing of the boot, sound deadener inside the guards, under the whole car, inside the wheel arches, i had rags stuffed under plastic trims and all, trus me....you wont stop the rattling.

the way i designed the box, it can be taken in and out of the boot, the bottom rear was actually tapered off, and the rib on the tail lights trimmed, this way the box would tilt and slide in and out.
