anyone ever hit it ...
i know that most of us have gone past 200km/h
but i know of a 1.6L exa that stops at 196km/h
i have had my silver exa upto 198km/gh
and my red exa off the clock ( est. 240km/h )

Does anybody know a a speed limiter ..
**a few years back, there was a member on here telling us how to bypass it .. are you still here ???

I haven't even gone over 100mph yet in my car. I'm too afraid there will be a cop just up the road when I do it.

i have had mine at redline in fifth gear...i have no idea how fast it was but i figure it was fast-hehe
the only speed limiter is the rev limiter and your foot/concience-hehe
i removed the pedal stop in all my cars-hehe

the pedal stop shouldn't actuall effect the performance of the car should it? as long as the throttle cable is set to the throttle is full open when the peddle is fully depressed there shouldn't be any problems.

lol.. i just pushed my car and yeah.. i was disappointed just changed in to 5th and then damn.. no speed gains... the limiter cut in at 185Km/h... i would easily get another 50km/h out of it

nudge nudge anyone kno how to get round it

Sounds like the typical 180km/h speed cut built into some Silvia ECU's and other Nissan vehicles. You can buy a speed cut defender second hand from unique auto sports or japanese motor sport, around $100 - 150 - or you could take the expensive route of buying engine management.

i find it odd that you guys down there have speed limiters???
maybe some of us should export our computers-hehe-or our multiple/spare ones-hehe
out of all five pulsars i have owned not one has had a governor...that is the best when i race people on the high way and they hit their limiter and i have about 15kmhs left in fourth plus a gear-hehe.

and yes i do drive like an idiot...hehe
my rule is...if i am late...dont speed
i speed cause i want to not because i have to...
but it is only weather permitting and little traffic areas...unless there are bends then i do some crazy stuff, aslong as i am alone-hehe

or have my passengers consent-hehe

Hey,
I went to ~210km/h in my n12 - but IU have aftermarket ecu so there is obviously no speed cut. Mind you, didn't accelerate much after 200 - that last 5-10 km/h took for ever!

Reason for more speed-limited ECU's would probably be due to Australia receiving a lot of import CA18's from japanese Silvia's (and it might've been fitted to other Jap CA18-equipped cars) and the ECU's which came over with them (in half-cuts etc.)

Well i know for sure that i dont have a speed limiter and it's all stock stuff!

Ok here it is... Speed Limiter is a wire that goes into your ECU purple #26 i think... better be safe than sorry! So b4 i go doing anything atleast wait till i find out for sure (this is just from memory) or someone else can comfirm this...
As for the REV limiter that is either a chip / eprom / or just programmed into tha ECU so u'd need to go get it reprogramed!

:D

On the 1987 Exa, wire 26 from the ECU is the water temp sensor. I do believe the wire diagrams changed slightly in later models, but this is also in a car which does not contain the speed limiter, which would be why the wire isn't there. So if you don't think you have a limiter, don't play with the wire anyway!

Speed Limiter in a exa??? never heard of that one, unless u have an import ca18 with an accompanying ecu?

Have u ever wondered why u think u might have a speed limiter? maybe ur car isnt powerful enuff? i mean cmon a 1.6, what did u expect from it?

Ive had mine upto around 220 with the 16s, but for some reason with the 18s it wont go past 205, probably the extra 10 or so kgs at each wheel :thumbsdow

Please note these speeds were done in the Northern Territory where i frequent quite often ;)

I didn't think there was a speed limiter, only a rev limiter. I've done 185km/h at night once (in NT!!) but slowed down for a built up area. The car was as smooth as, thats with stock everything. She would have been good for another 50 i reckon...
