today i successfully completed the AAMI advanced driver course and damn i had a cool day, the practical section was sweet! i got 2 use my exa, and they put u through a series of drills at apprx 50km/hr which show stopping distances and the best one was the hair pin part where u boot it at this hairpin corner set out with witches hats, as soon as u get 2 the apex the car just drifts sideways, id heard so many stories that FWD cars cant drift..... NOT TRUE my car went nuts but i didnt clip one hat!!!! so they got me 2 do it at 55km/hr and damn it was cool!!
they have groups of 15 which get split in2 groups of 3 drivers plus an instructor so for each of the drills ur tem mates are in the back (however cause my exa is so small i could only fit the instructor and one person behind him hahaha cmon i am 6"3!!!, but its crazy to be in the back of sumones car whose flyin sideways and clippin cones hahaha,
the other cool drill was a slalom, my car handled prtty well till the 5/6th cone when on each of my 4 attempts the drift was getting outta control and i clipped it each time
by far the best part is that ecause i hold my insurance the day was compltely free AND i get a discount on my insurance now cause ive completed it hehehe YAY!!!!!!

Anybody who says an Exa can't drift is a dickhead. I have done some sweet ass drift on a 270 degree exit off the highway down my way. It's fucking sweet shit.

My mate did the AAMI one too and he loved it. I am probably going to do the Holden one out at the Sirromet V8 Team's base.(Paul Morris's father runs it)

Glad to hear it was so good Flano! I've been going to do the same course for a few months but just waiting to sort out my suspension (possibly next week). Then I'll go and do it, so if anyone or their parents have AAMI insurance and are under 25 (in NSW) let me know and we'll do it on the same day :D

Yeah i've been meaning to get around to that for a while. My folks have AAMI full comp so its free. Anyone else in melbourne want to do it?? When you do it you get a 10 percent discount, on top of the bonus rating you get from parents with full comp! So anyone interested??

i did it a couple years ago in my folks VK (shuddup.. dont say a word)

would love to do it now in the celi, just to see how fast i could do it haha.

was a good course.. i definatly reccomend it, if not for the insurance benefits.. just for the training.

anyone know of any other training courses that can be taken by the general public for a small cost?
