Hey pplz
I need help on wat to do bout my smokin turbo problem.:help: Now ur probably wondering howd i do it in the first place. Well last week end there was a drag competition in the smalltown up north called Newman. I decided i would drive down from my hometown Port Hedland which is 430km away. i pretty much sat on 160km/h to get there and bak. Now the problem started when i got bak to Hedland the bonnet was smokin.:hitwall:
At first i thought maybe i fuked the radiator or sumthin. Well anyway i let it cool down and had a proper look. AT first i thought it was the pipe connecting the turbo to the bottom part of the engine. the reason being was that there was alot of oil and the tubing surrounding the pipe had melted and has a hole in it. Then i took it for another drive and after i noticed that the part of the turbo thats connected to the exhaust was smokin.
Well anyway ive been told by a mechanic that the turbo is fuked and ive been told in another forum that maybe my seals in the turbo r just broken.i dont know which one to believe. so ill go worst case scenario.
ANYBODY KNOW SOMEWHERE IN PERTH WHERE I CAN GET EITHER A NEW TURBO OR REPAIR MY CURENT ONE?
Im currently usin a T28 and dont ask me how much im boost im runnin it on cause i dont have anything else on the car.
Thx:cheers:

take it off, if u like and take it to turbo tech on great eastern highway

cypher guys just send it to them
i did mine with cypher and it's about 1000 for rebuilding it and 1200 to highflow it.
if u can't take it off yourself, better just go to cypher

Whats so good about Cypher? Sure they might throw on some chrome and a bit of jizm and polish it up for ya, but they root you up the arse for it.

Take the turbo off, take it to Per4manz or Robs turbo (?) in Ozzy Park. I wouldnt go to Dynamic Turbo or Turbo Tech, just in my own experience, they acted all highclass and shit when I asked a simple question, dont need that kinda attitude when Im a paying customer. Grant @ Per4manz was down to earth, although he took a couple of weeks to do the job.

Im from Sydney, so i wouldnt be able to suggest a place for fixing ur turbo, however just last month i had a similar problem, my N12 was blowing a shit load of white smoke, turned out was the oil seals in the turbo, they were completely rooted. I got my turbo re-conditioned, pretty much ending up with a whole new charger, anyways that was form garret turbo from a mate - only $400. So from what ur saying it sounds like the seals in the turbo..

How about giving me the phone number of the company that did it for $400? It's between $660 and $800 to fit a kit up here in Brisbane. It sounds like it would be worth me sending my turbo to Sydney to be done.

J C DIESEL TUNE
11 Bellingham St Narellan 2567 (02) 4646 1770

ask to speak to dick morris, he is the head turbo guy.
knows his shit, and was one of the cheapest places in sydney.
reco of a t2 is around 400, i bought a fully reconditioned t25 off him for 600, obviously if you already have a turbo that you want reco'd its a lot cheaper.
he also does exchange, rather than wait to get yours done, he will reco one, then you bring your old one in as an exchange.
(which is prob a bit hard from brizzy)

Thx Guys
Ive actually had a proper look and it appears that the area where the turbo flange connects to the exhaust manifold is actually smokin so im guessin that ive only blown a gasket.
Any clues how much it might cost to get a turbo gasket?

A gasket may be why you're SEEING smoke but it isn't CAUSING the smoke. You're engine may be damaged.
